When you put down your volunteer hours on a college application do they care more about what you are volunteering for, or the amount of hours you put in? I have 80 hours of volunteer hours with a 6-8 grade lacrosse team, is that as significant as working at a soup kitchen for the homeless in an admission counselors eyes?

The impression that I've gotten is that if you're committed to it, that's fine. And I see nothing wrong with the kind of volunteering you've done.
