Voting Registration Question

This may be a dumb question but I have asked everywhere & no one can give me an answer... so here's my question...

Do we get an absentee ballot from their home state so they can vote or do they sign up as a resident voter in NY?

Thank you.

They vote absentee from their home state, because their address is really their home address.

Thank you kindly...

Here's the form for Colorado folks:

In asked my son about getting him an Absentee Ballot for the Nov. elections (he is currently at sea and will be back shortly before Nov elections) and he informed me that it was someone's job at KP to do this.

Any insider info out there?

KPMarineOpsMom, it's news to me that someone at KP orders absentee ballots. That would make it less burdensome for the midshipmen. However, for Georgia, parents may fill out a form to have the absentee ballot sent to their sons and daughters. That's what I have done. The midshipmen can also order the ballot themselves.

It didn't dawn on me that our midshipman would be on his first sea rotation in Nov. until KPMarineOpsMom posted. How do we get an absentee ballot sent to a ship?

Here's a website that has information specfically for this:

Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) Main Page

I remember that when I was at sea the ship's Captain somehow had absentee ballots for us.
