VT instate vs Pitt OOS vs GT OOS neuroscience?

I’ve been accepted into both, but not honors. I really want to do Computational Neuroscience because I feel like it is a more applicable bachelors’ degree. I definitely will go to grad school and my parents will pay for both, (thankfully, I am very grateful for all the sacrifices they have made for me). However, if the two schools are similar enough and provide a similar caliber of opportunities I will go to VT

Pitt has had a very well established neuroscience program, while VT is more up and coming as they have only established the School of Neuroscience in the past 5 years. Both schools have incredible research opportunities as Pitt has CMU nearby and I believe they share a neuro research facility. Meanwhile, VT has it’s own neuro research center and I know many freshman who have been able to be a part of these programs.

Pitt is 50k and VT is 27k, is Pitt’s experience worth the extra cost?

Also, I was offered the arts+ science pathways program at Georgia Tech for sophomore year, which is guaranteed transfer assuming I take the required classes and have a 3.0

I am leaning towards VT, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

What did you choose? The price of VT is pretty good in comparison (are you in-state VA). What is cost for you at GT?

@cbl1
I ended up choosing VT and instate was the big draw! GT would be full-pay. As of right now, I’m planning to stay for all 4 years, but I’ll reevaluate towards the end of freshman year.

Awesome. I doubt once you get there you will ever want to leave. My son is an incoming freshman majoring in finance and pre-law currently.
