I got accepted to these two univerisities..and binghamton, RIT, UVic as well.

Im still waiting from RPI...
If I have two choices between Virginia Tech and Penn State, then which one should I go?? Im an international applying for elec engineering

I was in a similar situation as you...PSU Engineering with Honors and VT Engineering with Honors...I chose VT Engineering---they are both great schools with respectable engineering programs..What sold me on VT was the campus, environment and job opportunities in the Northern Virginia/DC area. About the Engineering department specifically Virginia Tech EE can be joint majored with Computer Engineering. VT is not only cheaper, but I think the quality of academics is a little better as well....USNews doesnt mean anything--its all relative. Both of these schools are awesome for Engineering, what sold me to VT was the environment, campus life and quality of education.

This is interesting. I have been told many times that Penn State Engineering (honors, especially) is highly regarded nationwide. How true is this (esp. regarding chemical/bioengineering)? I live in Pennsylvania, so Penn State would be a great deal, and I have heard that it is very well renowned for its engineering programs.

Jelda...you made a great decision...I promise you that you will not be disappointed. As an Engineering student VT, I am very proud of the decision that I made and am sure that you will be as well. GO VT!! :)

I got another letter from VT today .. not makin stuff up... from the dean of engineering actually

Dear *******,

I have learned from the University's Admissions Office that you have been offered admission into our College of Engineering. Please accept my sincere congratulations and good wishes for the future. In particular, I do hope that you will decide to study at Virginia Tech -- one of the top five polytechnics in the nation...
