thanks artemisdea! i really thought i had a chance at UNC, which really sucks. everyone else at my school got in EA, so that was pretty difficult.

i guess i’ll probably end up going to another UNC (wilmington or asheville) or nc state. i might try to transfer after a year or two.

LolyGAGHa: I feel for you! Have you thought about going to a state CC for 2 years then transferring in to UNC or another state school? I work at a CC and it seems a good way to go for many students.

ArtemisDea: I’m so sorry! Where else have you applied? Anywhere in-state?

D got waitlisted but W&M was her reach and we weren’t sure if we could swing the OOS tuition. It’s down to Clemson and NC State. She also got accepted at Smith but it’s too expensive so it’s out too.

Looks like it’s not been a good W&M day in NC!

Loly-- Aw, yeah. I remember your thread. I seriously think that if you had just one more semester or took the SAT one more time, it would’ve been golden. I really like UNCA, personally. You can totally transfer!

Mamagx3- Thanks. I was accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill, so I’m not totally crushed. I was also wait listed at Reed College, and I don’t think I’m going to pursue an acceptance letter there since I can’t afford it (at my school, our GC’s can/will get you off the waiting list of any one school you pick).

To my fellow NC-ers: William and Mary clearly doesn’t deserve us.

Topangaa-From what I see, the acceptances have almost all been people from NoVA. Since it seems like most of the OOS applicants who have received admissions decisions were waitlisted, I’m guessing the waitlist letters are travelling faster than acceptance letters… but I’m just guessing.

I haven’t received anything yet either, but I wasn’t expecting to hear any decision for a few days since I live in Texas.

Loly…as a Mom I am dissappointed by the process as well…life is unfair…but you should not have to learn it through this process…as a Mother I have always told my son to work hard…do well… and there will be a payoff in the end…unfortunately it is not always so. My son was accepted by West Point…then had the spot rescinded by medical…wanted to go to Georgetown…rejected…waitlisted at UVA (OOS)
he did get into Notre Dame…which is probably where he will go…but we are waiting to hear from W & M first…I do not have high hopes of acceptance.
I wish you luck and please know that none of this is a reflection on you and your hard work.
Life is a weird thing …and sometimes things happen for a reason…then again
sometimes there is NO rhyme or reason to anything.

yess, just recieved the letter today! my dad woke me up by screaming “THERE’S A BIG ENVELOPE DOWN HERE!” from our kitchen. william and mary is among my top three, which are northwestern, w&m, and dartmouth. i am in to northwestern and waiting till 5 for dartmouth. i’m completely overjoyed that i got in- i’ve been at the but end of a long string of rejections/waitlists since my northwestern acceptance.

Acceptance for an OOS female! Who will definitely need financial aid! Whoaaa.

This is a FANTASTIC salve on my one-rejection, 3-waitlist Ivy tally today. It’s between W & M, Georgetown, and Villanova (I got a full ride there). And I’ll probably accept a place on Brown’s waitlist, I suppose. But that just might prolong the torture!
