W&M vs. UVA

im thinking about applying to WM tho I've applied to UVA ED as In State. I was wondering, is W&M harder to get into than UVA, or easier? more specifically, wat does WM look or emphasized more than UVA?

i'd say they pretty much are equal with regards to getting into - although applying to uva will certainly make it easier to get into that w&m (i.e. if you don't get in ED to uva i doubt you'd get into w&m regular). Although there are plenty of stories of people getting into 1 and not the other.

Well, the CDS says that the SAT medians for W&M are higher than UVA and the difference in average GPA is 0.1, UVA being higher than W&M.

I just feel like W&M is less number-based.

agreed with the other 2 posters mostly... essentially equal schools. I also feel W&M is less numbers based.

for what it's worth I applied ED to UVA and didn't get in (in state, legacy), and got into WM during RD. Quite frustrating at the time, but I'm happy now =P.

It seemed that at our VA hs, we had kids get in both, none and then interestingly enough about an equal number get accepted to UVa and not William and Mary as compared to getting into W&M but not UVa.
