"W" on transcript

I'm a freshman and really struggling in bio 141 right now, and it's mostly the lab part. the lab is 25% of the grade and I have a 50 in lab right now so there is almost no chance of me getting better than a B+. I was going to do premed but now I changed my mind and want to go toward business. I really want to get into the Emory business school so I'm planning to withdraw from bio. I have chem too but chem is ok. how bad does W look on transcript and how does my chances of getting into the bus school go down by?

No, since a W on ur transcript won’t be factored into ur gpa. just get 3.5+ overall with a 3.4+ on ur pre-bus classes and you’ll be fine.

W isnt a big deal. Its not rare at all to see on transcripts. Just can’t let it become a habit

definitely not a big deal if you have one or two.

theres a thing for freshmen where you might be able to get out without even a W. i dont remember what it is exactly but you should find out

^ i asked my pace advisor who asked someone else about withdrawing a class without a “W” and they said it doesn’t exist. If we (freshman) were to withdraw in a class right now, it will still show up as a W… unless you can find something that says otherwise? i want to drop a class too :(

I think I was wrong then.

wrong^

i asked and they said that if you withdraw before oct 14 then you wont have a W.
but im not withdrawing anymore. its not that bad anymore

As a freshman, you can wait till the last day of classes to drop the class. You will get a W but it is better than the WF you would get if you waited that long to drop a class if you are not a freshman

@ilikepizza, who did you ask??? cuz i’m trying to drop the class but I need proof that this exists…my pace advisor has no clue about it.
