Waaaay too late to apply as a transfer?

Well, Michigan State University has a rolling admission process, so I am wondering if it's way too late to apply and hope for an acceptance for a college transfer admission as a sophmore.

I thought about doing this in January-February and started on a transfer application, but I honestly don't know why I didn't finish/send it in. Maybe because I thought I had a good chance at transferring to the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. I got ****ed over due to space limitations despite an impressive first semester at college, and aiming for the same finishing the second semester. I honestly abhor my current college (Wayne State University), and am seriously hoping for a transfer.

When I was a senior last year, I applied to Michigan State University around January (they didn't get all my materials until late april because my high school is highly retarded). I was accepted, but not for the fall term - only the winter. I had a 3.2 high school GPA and I believe a 24 or 25 on my ACT, which doesn't surprise me that they didn't place me in priority for Fall 2009. I replied on the MSU admission site I was interested in doing a transfer because if it was my choice, I would be at MSU at the moment. But my dad is a huge moron and thought it was a bad idea transferring mid-year to MSU because I was staying on campus and apparently there would be several difficulties (which there wouldn't which explains my current frustration).

If I apply this week, I could possibly get all my required documents from my high school and college to MSU by the end of next week at the latest. I just want to figure out if this is honestly worth it. I had a 3.84 last semester, and am looking at a 3.7 this semester. All my credits would transfer to MSU.

It’s not too late, as they have rolling admissions. Just don’t expect to get accepted to fall 10 semester (I don’t believe there’s a deadline, but the spots are probably already full).

I don’t understand a few things though: What do you mean that you got ****ed over due to space limitations? UMich is not required to accept any transfers. And they give it to the most qualified applicants first. UMich routinely gets more 4.0 transfer applicants than it can accept.

Sorry, but you seem to be blaming everyone but yourself. You blame UMich, your high school, your dad, Wayne, etc. Sorry, but take some responsibility.

Just apply. The worst that can happen is that you don’t get in until Spring 11.

I didn’t blame UMich at all. I just pointed out that I applied at a very inconvenient time. When I meant *ed over, I meant I got myself *ed over as I applied very close to the deadline and such. Sorry if my post was unclear about that.

Also, what do you mean Umich gets more 4.0 college transfer students? I looked at the site not too long ago to see the average is at a 3.7.

Thanks for the comment though. I guess I will try at the least.

Sorry, I’m not sure where you’re seeing anything about UMich’s transfer statistics. I scoured the website and turned up empty-handed.

And yes, I do know 4.0 GPA students that they’ve turned away.

Hey guys, random question, wondering if you can answer. I applied to MSU and I have been frequently checking my application status right now it says “We are currently in the process of reviewing your application” does that mean they got everything? Or would it list what they got?
