Wait... if I was admitted to the major of pre-political science at UCLA or UCSB, what year would I be entering as? I heard some people say that I would be entering as a sophomore. Is this true? If I were admitted to the major of pre-political science, how many more years do I have to be at the university? Would the amount of years still be two compared to someone who is actually admitted into their major; like biology. What I am basically asking is if I will be at the university longer than most.

90 quarter units and up = Junior Standing.

So 60 x 1.5 is 90 quarter units. That is good. I thought that being put in a pre-major status made you a sophomore.

we're actually all pre-majors.

we declare our majors after our first quarter. at least for philosophy, i believe you have to maintain a major GPA of 3.5 or higher to declare as that major (could be for honors, possibly 3.0). so if we don't take our major class the first quarter, then we're still pre-majors and will have to wait until we take an upper division, major course before we can declare ourselves as anything.
