Wait is opening up!

marrob4 - I was thinking the same thing. Hope we hear from VADAD1.

Thank you all for thinking of me and my daughter. No communication from UVA regarding the wait list as of yet, but you never know. Looks like they might take a good number of people off the wait list so we’ll see what happens.

My daughter applied to a few schools with rolling admissions, and we got waivers for late applications at a few other schools. It looks like she will be attending the University of Mary Washington if she doesn’t get a wait list call, and she is pretty pleased with what UMW has to offer.

The only downside is that she probably didn’t get as impressive a merit scholarship as she would have gotten if she would have applied EA.

Wonderful!

She’s in a win/win situation now! (Sent you a PM with more.)

Has any one gotten in from international? I’m wondering how they will notify us–time differences and all…

Hi Dean J , when you take a student off the waitlist do you only call or also send an email, wanted to know because there is a possibility that the call may be missed

I just got taken off of the waitlist. They make every effort to reach you if you are picked–I got 2 calls on my cell, 2 calls home, and finally an email, although the email only said to call their office and nothing about an acceptance  They wanted me to call to hear the great news personally!

Congrats ixiedin!!!are you in state or out of state and which college you had applied

Thank you DelhiIndia! I am an in-state applicant to the College of Arts and Sciences :)

Will the American students be called off perior to the students from other countries?

Hi Dean J,
There has been no update from you on the waitlist process for last 12 days, please let us know the number of students that would be taken off the waitlist. Your updates is what keeps us going. Thanks and no doubt you are the best…

There hasn’t been any update about the progress of Waitlist accepting although now is the third week of May. Does that mean we are hopeless?

We’re still working. I made a couple offers this week, but those students haven’t deposited yet.

Remember, we give students two days to think about things. Those who applied for aid get a little longer (two days from the time their aid package is given to them).

Hi Dean J, UVA is the first choice for my daughter but due to some personal reason we have not been able to visit UVA even once, kindly let me know if it is a major consideration in your decision process. Also, it has been nearly one month since the deadline for accepted students has passed, please let us know the number of waitlisted students that you would be offering admission this year.

UVa says that it does not matter whether you visit or not - it has no influence on admissions decisions.

Has any international student been off WL?

I believe Dean J was recently married or is about to be married. That may be why she has not updated the blog or tweeted recently.

Any updates would be much appreciated Deanj!!

Give Dean J a break…the poor woman works her tail off 24/7 most all the time, esp this year with the introduction of EA. She was recently married. I’m sure if critical new information is available someone else within admissions has access to the site and they’ll let you know. Otherwise let’s wish her well and let her enjoy some peace and quiet for a change.

I hear that the waitlist is closed…good luck all the hopeful
