Wait list Discussion

@SurvivorFan - I read about your struggle in deciding between Vandy and Bama. Congrats on Vandy. My DD had the same struggle between Vandy and Duke and she chose Vandy . It was a very hard decision.

got off the waitlist today!

So does this mean that the second wave is complete too? :(

@538zooo‌ …to which school were you accepted?

@sharkmo arts and science!

I am on the waitlist for the college of engineering, and I applied for financial aid. Is there any chance that I’ll get off the waitlist?

I am in the same boat and would love to know. It seems like everyone accepted off the waitlists so far are arts and sciences.

Has anybody been accepted from the wait list for Peabody and Engineering yet?

@SteelTrapMindset‌ @ngou33 The UAO has stated that the first wave of acceptances off the waitlist (which is the largest) was sent out in its entirety so people theoretically got in from all four schools. That being said, they also acknowledged that the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest and therefore will end up admitting the largest number of waitlisted students because of that (but whatever the numbers looked like as of May 1 also affected things). I’m guessing that very few people even got off the Engineering waitlist (if any at all) and thus no one has come here announcing that.

I’ve emailed my regional admissions counselor so if I receive any news, I’ll be sure to share it with everyone else. Likewise, it would be great if anyone else with news could share it.

Testing…is this thing on?

@sharkmo Ha that’s what I wanted to know too :)

For anyone who might care, my counselor hasn’t responded to the email that I sent last weekend. If she doesn’t respond by tomorrow afternoon I’ll probably call the OUA to see if they can answer some of my questions. I’ll do my best to share any info I might learn.

So does anyone know someone who got into the college of engineering? I think only arts and science felt it necessary to utilize the waitlist :/

There’s got to be at least one more round of offers…

Has anyone heard anything recently? Don’t lose hope yet everyone! We’re all in this together :)

Not to cause any heart rates to skyrocket unnecessarily or anything but I was reading this year’s transfer thread and noticed that quite a few people mentioned having decisions up on MyAppVU before receiving any sort of notification email. Don’t go stampeding to check and please don’t shoot the messenger (!!)…I just thought I’d throw that out there.

Also, has anyone been in correspondence with his/her admissions counselor? I’ve exchanged several emails with mine but I haven’t received any response to the last two or three that I’ve sent within the past 2 weeks or so. I’m hoping I didn’t scare my counselor off…

I’ve sent about 4 messages and only gotten one response - “I will add this to your file”

According to the blog, “You are correct that the Class of 2018 is very nearly filled, but it is possible that we will be making a handful of final wait list offers in the next few weeks.”

Wow, a few weeks! I’m starting to lose hope… And still no signs of acceptances in engineering… :-(

At this point, we should all be thrilled about going to the University we committed to on May 1st. Not going to Vanderbilt may be for our betterment, we just dont think it, yet. Theres no point of stressing anymore or refreshing emails. It’ll all make sense soon enough. Until then, good luck everyone on your future endeavors.

Will they send rejection email at end?

@required3 They said that once the class is full they will send out an email to anyone who was still on the waitlist.
