Darn. How long between waves?

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted off the waitlist!
@GreatBeane Which college were you on the waitlist for? So far, it seems like CAS students have been accepted off the waitlist. Any news in regards to Peabody, Blair, or Engineering? Also, how are you certain that the first wave is over?

Accepted off the waitlist! I will e-mail saying that I want the official offer, but it is very 50-50 as to whether I take it or stick with Alabama. I have 72 hours to decide from when it is updated, right?

Any international students got accept off the waitlist? Why there’s no sign on the admission blog this year??

How can you be sure that the first wave is over? We havent seen any int’l or engineering kids :/

Actually, there are several international students getting off the waitlist. As far as I know, they are all the applicants for CAS. So I wonder if there is anyone getting off the waitlists for the other three colleges. I am on the wait list for Peabody College. Hope to know whether the off-waiting-list action is done separately by colleges?

@csliudd2 It sounds like you and I are wondering the same thing. As far as I recall reading, there are waitlists for each of the four schools and acceptance off them is based on what the class that deposited on May 1 looks like. So far everyone who has gotten in and posted about it seems to be from CAS. No word on Peabody, Engineering, or Blair. It’s a possibility that the four schools are releasing acceptances at different times. Another possibility is that this year, those other 3 schools had their spots all filled by accepted students and therefore will not be accepting any off the waitlist whereas the CAS spots were not all filled. I’m considering calling within the next few days to see if the OUA can provide some answers given that there has been no information on their blog whatsoever.

To everyone who is in the same boat as me: don’t give up hope! Other schools are also likely looking to accept off their waitlists now so there’s always the possibility that a few spots could open up for some of us. Regardless, whether you end up at Vandy in the fall or not, just know that all of you are destined for bright futures (as cliche as that may sound)!!

@ahleesuh Thanks for your information! Hope the best luck for all of us on the wait lists!

Looks like something finally went up on the Vandy admissions blog. In response to a question I asked regarding whether or not the first wave has ended, they said, “Thanks for the question, [ahleesuh]. We make our offers to students on the wait list on a rolling basis. We’ll continue with the offers as space is available until the class is full. Bottom line: keep watching your email and checking the blog for updates.”

Based on that, no word as to whether the acceptances have been issued to students on all four waitlists yet. However, when I called the OUA today, I was told that acceptances have been sent out to students on all 4 waitlists. Now it’s just a matter of seeing waiting it out.

2014 Wait List Update

Posted: 05 May 2014 08:54 AM PDT

We have begun making offers of admission to students on our wait list for the Class of 2018. As we mentioned in our Wait List FAQ 2014 Edition, applicants on the wait list who are offered admission will receive an email from the Director of Admissions and will have a limited amount of time to accept the offer and pay the matriculation fee. We will continue with offers until the Class of 2018 is filled. We can’t predict when exactly this will happen, although we will notify by email all students who remain on the wait list when the class is officially closed.

In the meantime, we will continue to send email inquiries to all students remaining on the wait list to gage continued interest in Vanderbilt. A quick response to these inquiries will help us know your interest as we finalize the enrollment for the Class of 2018.

Thank you for your patience with the wait list process – we know this can be an anxious time for you and your family. Remember, though, that the fact that you were offered a spot on the wait list means that we think you would make a valuable contribution to the Vanderbilt community.

We will continue to post updates as the wait list process continues. Questions are welcome in the comments section.

Anyone accepted after 5/5?

I got a continued intent of if I still want to be on the waitlist email on the 5th? Wat does that mean ?

Got it too. It seems like it was sent to all the waitlistees. Maybe the next round is about to begin

@mehh1234 @WinnieZ I’m guessing that the next round won’t begin for a few more days since I’m pretty sure the people accepted in the first round have until the 9th or 10th to deposit and officially accept their spots

@ahleesuh Yeah i guess you’re right. But at least they indicate they are considering more by sending that email Keep our hopes up!

We had until the 7th (yesterday) to deposit.

Did you deposit, or stick with Bama?

@SurvivorFan Thanks for the info!
Yes @WinnieZ I’m keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

@sharkmo
I decided to go to Vanderbilt.

I can’t help but think that was the right move. Congrats!
