I did send a letter. The email last week was because Yale was not sure if they would be taking anyone else of the waitlist.

Yeah, I think 123hope got the extended waitlist letter. Last week would have been when everything was mailed out, so it makes sense that they would notify those they would like to keep. Yadart seems to be talking about a different email, the timing’s all wrong.

And the content of the letter sounds similar to that of my Columbia extended waitlist letter.

So there’s still hope for 123hope. As for the rest of us…

sunb35 and all others just hanging out on waitlists… I am a parent who is desperately holding out hope (just a thread of hope) for my son who is on another waitlist… he has always wanted that school… in the top 20 but not hyp… it is so sad to see people just grasping at threads looking for hope in all this. It is a humiliating process…

you know what… many questions will be answered, if 123hope would just copy paste what was in the email… that way, we would know what email hes talking about… nd i guess sunb35 is right… i think i got a diff mail which probably everyone else on the wait list has got… so that makes 123hope the only person to get an “extended wait list” letter…

@123hope - could you please copy paste the contents?

@ everyone - yes i did send a letter of interest to Yale.

Sunb 35 and the rest, they have sent some rejection letters. And it seems you guys have not got it. I live right across the globe from USA but mail doesn’t take this long to arrive here.

But the e-mail just intrigues me. Yadart and 123 Hope, post your e-mails if you can.

Krusso51, I can’t agree more!

This is what I was sent.

We know that you are still waiting word from us about your Yale application, and we wanted to communicate with you that we would like to continue considering you for admission. Since May 1, we have taken some students from our waitlist, while letting others know that we cannot consider their applications further.

Given the level of activity on waitlists this year, however, we are still waiting to see whether all of our available places will be taken. We think it is very possible that we will offer admission to a few additional students, and would therefore like to keep you under consideration. If you would prefer not to stay on our waitlist, please simply let us know by return email. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you are still interested in Yale and would like to remain on the active list.

123 Hope!
Brilliant.

I did not get this. So I must be rejected. But I didn’t get a letter by mail.

i got my rej letter(email) two days ago. byebye yale!

Me too…
Had a spelling mistake too haha “INPORTANT”
Bye Yale.

Same here.

I still haven’t gotten anything good or bad. What does that mean?

I got rejected today. Is Yale still taking people of their waitlist or is it closed for everyone?

Not sure, I still haven’t heard anything at all since April 1…
