wait list

anyone else here on it too? maybe there is another post somewhere.. but does anyone know how many kids are usually offered a spot on the wait list?

i'd be optimistic- i think only around 38% of RD accepted students actually enroll.

i'm also on the waitlist...
i really liked connecticut college a lot and sent in my waitlist form to stay on it the next day but i'm still undecided about what to do. i've pretty much decided i'm going to Union College but if chances of getting off the waitlist are good especially if i send in supplementary materials i don't want to get my hopes up for Conn and then feel like i'm settling for union if i don't get off the waitlist...

also...does anyone know if sports coaches can help stuents get off the waitlist? i'm visiting connceticut college again over april vacation and i want to do crew when i get there so i am meeting with the coach to see their failities and talk about their team. i'm not expecting anything from him but i have a lot of good experience and was wondering if it was possible for him to talk to admissions for me on top of the supplementary stuff i will send.

even if the %yield for the school is only 38..wouldn't the admissions office know that not that many accepted students actually enroll so they'd consider that in deciding the # of students to accept? and wouldn't that make it just like getting off the waitlist at any other school?

In 2005, the last year for which I could find public data, Conn enrolled 80 students from the wait list (enrolled, not just admitted!); that suggests that there's hope Good luck!

BTW, Conn's overall yield is usually in the mid-30% range, but way below that for RD. In 2005, for instance, Conn admitted 42% of its class ED (about 210 students); another 80 students came from the waitlist, so only a little over 200 matriculating students in a class of about 500 came from the regular ED pool. That makes it hard to predict year-to-year exactly who will enroll.

when do students usually find out about waitlists? i'm guessing in may but is it towards the end or the middle or close to may 1?

also if you don't get off the waiting list do they tell you that you haven't?

has anyone gotten in yet off of the waitlist? i am wondering when they start letting us know..

I'm wondering the same thing - I haven't heard anything yet.

Good luck to you!

i got off the waitlist today :) not going though, so hope one of you hopefuls get my spot!
what really helped is sending in your waitlist form early, i think... i sent it the very next day when i got it. best wishes~

i hope that's true because i sent mine in ON the day i got my waitlist letter!
where are you from?

massachusetts, i probably live like 1.5-2 hrs from conn college.
