Does anyone know whether Brown in taking candidates off the wait-list or not this year? If so, how many?

I don't think anyone knows yet... there is another thread that suggests there might not be very many slots for wait-listers this year. I wonder, does the school send a letter when the class is filled, so people know when to stop waiting? Does anyone know when the offers have arrived in past years? I suppose the process must go on for a few weeks, as not everyone on the waitlist would accept and they'd have to notify the next person.

Can you please give me the link to that (awful) thread?

It was this one, that you started - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=182998
oops - that doesn't look like a hot link - what did I do wrong? Anyway, it's the one titled "Calculation regarding wait-list: Do they indicate no hope?" Maybe I'm just having trouble being optimistic, but I thought the numbers didn't look good. The only hopeful news is that people applied to more schools this year, so maybe there will be a large number that won't accept.

I've bumped up the thread I think you're referring to. Since no one knows the numbers yet, it's impossible to say.

I have heard that they are way ahead in yield and will be taking very few if any from the wait list i am sorry to say.

Could you please tell me your source

here's an insider's source. they are 65 students over target size, even after factoring ppl withdrawing because they are accepted off waitlist elsewhere.

Thanks very much for that info. At least it brings some closure to those that have been waitlisted (like my son). I'll give the Alum Office a buzz tomorrow to confirm this information, since we've also used the alumni college counselor.

Cami215: I'd appreciate if you could tell me what the alum office says.

Just confirming on this thread. The alum office states that there will be little or no waitlist movement this year.
