wait listed at RU

does anyone know what the chances are to get in at RU after being wait listed?

i applied last year and was waitlisted then not admitted (SOE). Applied again this year and was promptly accepted haha.

@jminds It depends what your stats are. Last year I applied as a freshman with a fair chance of getting into RBS-NB. I was waitlisted with a 3.6 weighted (idk what my unweighted was), then denied. However, I wasn’t all too disappointed because I had decided it would be a better economic decision to go to CC. This year I applied with 3.78 college GPA and was quickly accepted as well.

Hi I have around a 1600 - 1630 SAT score and a 3.3 GPA. I applied to Rutgers Business (got deferred and then transferred over to Newark and got accepted to that), and I got waitlisted for Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences and the other school of Biological Science. I’ve been waiting for so long! I sent in my mid year grades. What are my chances of getting into Rutgers New Brunswick (my top choice)??

Rutgers Business is pretty competitive, and your SATs are on the low end. How many credits do you have and what math classes have you taken? those are usually the more important things for transfers if you have enough credits.

A student’s chances of admission from a waiting list are difficult to predict. If we find that we have space for additional students (which usually happens sometime after May 1), we review all the students on the waiting list and admit the most academically competitive students. For this reason, its important for students to keep their files updated with their most recent academic records (high school students should submit updated marking period grades and transfer students should submit an updated college transcript at the end of the spring semester). Because we cannot guarantee admission from a waiting list, all wait listed students should begin making alternate college arrangements for the upcoming semester.

If I decide on Rutgers Newark (just to be safe), then would I still be able to get into New Brunswick? Because the deadline to reply back is around May, and if I might not hear back until after May from New Brunswick then I’d definitely have to have my spot in Newark at least.

In order to guarantee a seat in our incoming class, you may accept our offer of admission to Rutgers-Newark while you remain on the waiting list for a Rutgers-New Brunswick school. If you are eventually admitted from the waiting list, you will then have the option of changing your school of enrollment to Rutgers-New Brunswick.

Ohh, alright! Thank you so much

i got wait listed at Rutgers-New Brunswick school also.and i got accepted into Temple University. The deadline for me to reply to Temple is on May 1st ( and i think the decision for the wait listed is after may) so will my application for Rutgers New Brunswick still be consider(will i still get a final decision for the wait listed) if i accept the offer from Temple?

^yes. Rutgers will offer you admission if you still want to attend.
You just waste the deposit money though for Temple.

what is the dates you will get your final decision?
