@NervousMamaBear Congrats. What major?
Does that mean the second wave is out?
Undeclared, but plans on going pre-med route.
sai.1321
yes
Are you sure? Cause wouldnât there be more people who would be posting if they did?
Hi guys, I received an email today around noon. I got in! I have 36hrs to decide though.
@Severus2013 and @NervousMamaBear, what schools? Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Peabody, etc?
@ScienceInMA Arts and Science
My daughter got an email at 1203pmEDT. Must reply by midnight tomorrow. Then 3 days to accept formally. She will accept. This site has been helpful to keep us sane. Wanted to let others know. Good luck to all!
@TarHeel87 which school?
I dont know all the piece parts. She will be an Econ major
@TarHeel87 Has your D received any financial aid?. When they accept you, if they offer financial aid, do they do it right when they admit you?. I you only have 36 hours to accept I assume you have full knowledge of any financial aid offered otherwise how can you evaluate the offer, Am I correct?. My son is still on the waiting list and he replied to the email from Vandy on 05/09 letting they know that he is still interested in going to Vandy.
Realistically speaking, does anybody knows if he still has a chance?. Do you get an email when they donât admit you?. Thanks
Iâm pretty sure they send out an email when the freshman class has been filled and the waitlist is officially âclosed.â It would be very bad form to do nothing and leave people hanging, not to mention all of the emails and phone calls theyâd have to field if they never announced that waitlist was closed.
@Alfmoren - hereâs how it goes down: You get an email from Vanderbilt offering to offer you admission. Basically, it says - if you are intending to apply to Vanderbilt in the Fall if accepted, we are prepared to offer you admission. You have about 24 hours to respond to that email. If you respond yes, then your portal immediately is updated with an acceptance and a financial aid package. You then have 72 hours to enroll.
I believe I read that they anticipate the waitlist process to be wrapped up early July - maybe? So there is still a chance until then. How realistic is it? I donât know. I would imagine most of the spots are filled in the first and second rounds, but thatâs just supposition. Donât lose hope just yet.
@Trixy34 Thanks indeed!
Last cycle, Vandy sent an email on July 10, 2018 that the wait list was finally finally finally closed.
Search this thread and you can see how/when the waves came out.
Good luck.
@Alfmoren @Trixy34 I emailed my admissions counselor and she said they are aiming to wrap up the process by July 4th
My son received an email from Vandy yesterday asking if he is still interested in joining Vanderbilt. Does that mean they are going to take off the list some more people soon?
@lemonstress23, thanks for the update!
Probably more this week.
Has anyone heard anything yet?
