My D has been waitlisted for Emerson – first choice was MT and second choice was Acting. The on-line letter doesn’t say whether the waitlist is for MT or for acting.

I am sure that it varies from year to year, but does anyone have any experience with Emerson and waitlists – do they typically take students from their waitlist?

how did you hear? i keep refreshing the page…

I know some got a snail mail package today.

Natalieblueeyes…to my knowledge, unless something has changed at Emerson, you can only be considered for ONE of their theater programs, not two, unlike some schools like Ithaca, Syracuse, NYU/Tisch, UArts.

I think all decisions are online. There is a new box that you click and it opens your letter re: acceptance, rejection, waitlist.
My D’s was waitlist and there is a box you click to tell them whether you want to be on the waitlist or not.

My D’s waitlist letter came in the mail today, but still not much information. It is the generic letter from the college saying hundreds were waitlisted. I would have to think that there is a specific theater waitlist also, but nothing about that in the letter.

Hi! I’m a freshman MT at Emerson and I know that at least 1 or 2 people in my class and in the sophomore class are here from the waitlist, so it is definitely possible to get accepted if you are waitlisted!

Anyone know how many are accepted to the BA acting program at Emerson ?

Actually, Soozievt, I know someone last year who applied to the MT program at Emerson, did not get in, but was automatically accepted to the BA Theater program. Don’t know if they are operating that way this year or not…?

D has a friend who applied to the BFA acting and was accepted to BA – today.

Original post is old but you can apply for BFA in MT and instead get BFA Acting or BA Acting or BA theater studies, or some alternative major… Or nothing.
