Who here got waitlisted and what are your stats.

Waitlisted after deferred. Biology/LAS 3.4W GPA, 28 ACT, instate. Anyone know changes of getting moved in from LAS waitlist? Last year they moved in zero from LAS waitlist. What are your stats?

@Lewis14 Had the exact same stats and major/school as you lol

Where can you see waitlist statistics of previous years?

Saw stats on the UIUC blog. No one was moved in from the waitlist for LAS last year.

I got deffered, and now waitlisted. This wait is getting pretty absurd, but I really want to go here. I suggest everyone find friends who have been accepted, but don’t want to go and ask them to decline so that we can optimize the number of open slots.

Interesting.
Last year only LAS and the division of general studies had wait lists

So I am assuming waitlisted applicants are only considered for their first choice.

I think they usually only have LAS and DGS waitlists every year, not sure why. @LT2014 what were your stats?

Sorry, forgot to add those. 3.2 UW/4.0 W GPA, 27 ACT, instate. I applied to LAS for Psychology.

@Lewis14

I don’t think so. I applied for Computer Science in the Engineering college and I got waitlisted

College of Engineering MEng
1980/1360
1940/1380
1800/1250

GPA : 9.8/10

Excellent essays
Average extra curriculars

guys looks like 2900 ppl got waitlisted so chances are low :(

2,900 people were offered the waitlist. We won’t know until May 1 how many accepted the offer. I’m trying to get statistics from ‘Beth’ on previous years to calculate approximately how many might accept the waitlist offer this year.

I just spoke to an admissions counselor on the phone… he told me that he dosent think they will take anyone off the waitlist… try calling them and asking the same thing maybe different people will say different things

I spoke to someone just now. She said she has no idea. @ellmell96 the counselor you spoke to really shouldn’t have given you that guess. Last year nobody was moved from the waitlist and the year before that quite a few were moved off the waitlist. Quite honestly no one really knows what’ll happen this year until they see what current admitted students are going to do, either accept or decline their admissions decision. So not to be mean or anything but could you quit the pessimist attitude and simply wait.

@LT2014 I totally get what your saying, personally ive gotten my hopes up for the past two times we were notified about decisions and i was crushed when I would out. it really sucks. I agree that counselor should of said that but there was reason he did I talked to him about it for a good 20 min. So i am not trying to be a downer but realistically and personally I dont want to raise my hopes to high to get crushed for the third time. I respect your opinion
