What should I do if I'm on FSU's wait-list?
Do you think FSU plans on cutting more from the wait-list than last year due to the economy?
Did I make a bad decision by paying summer housing deposit (UNF) and not waiting to see if I'll gain admission to FSU?

My college advisor told me that there are a-lot of legal issues with wait-lists (didn't know that).

Thank You =)

well, ur potentially getting a spot from me. good luck.

Call, write, visit if possible and meet with an admissions counselor. Show them your interest. Update with any honors or awards. Update with any retakes of the SAT or ACT. When then go to the waitlist to pick students, make sure they know your name and that you would take a slot if offered. I am not aware of any legal issues. Wait lists are legal and there are no pending suits about them that I am aware. And yes, it is good to have paid a deposit somewhere to have a slot just in case. Then if you get called off the waitlist, you just call the other U and explain. Happens all the time. Nothing illegal about it.

Awesome! Thanks You guys I really appreciate the information =)

another spot open.

S just declined FSU acceptance.

good luck!

Unfortunately, FSU accepts more than they have room for, knowing that some students decline. They know what their yield is, historically, and offer more acceptances that they have room for. So every time someone declines, it does not open up a slot–sorry to say. But if there are MORE declines than usual, there willl be students taken off of the wait list.

Hang in there.
