Waiting....(eek!)

no :frowning: i’m a white female

@manmadeofbacon Anyone in your area receive a letter?

@collegesecret how many kids in your area got a letter?

10 people that I know of that go to my school got them and I know of like four other people that didn’t get their letters, but I didn’t hear of any rejections yesterday

Yea, I think rejections get sent out tomorrow. I know last year there werent any rejections on the first day either, but I’m not sure about the second day. Do you have any insight?

not really :frowning: but my friend talked with a student from UW Bothell who works with UW to help us apply and she said admittance letters get sent out in waves, but I don’t know about rejections. It makes me nervous that none were sent out yesterday.

@huskyhopeful I haven’t heard of anyone in my area hearing back yet, except for one genius girl who got a phone call saying she got into the honors program like two weeks ago. Since most of the letters seem to have been sent Friday, the mail couldn’t really go across the state in a day.

@manmadeofbacon I think you’re in, if your essays are strong.
@collegesecret yup they get sent out in waves for sure, wonder if they seperate rejections and acceptances? That would make sense to me. Someone from last year should give some insight, lol.

I live in PA but go to school in MA…yeah it will be a while

3.8 GPA, 6 APS, 3 Dual Enrollment, 6 Honors, 1930 SAT (560 CR, 670 M, 700 W). Live in Minnesota. I think not receiving mail means that it just has to get here. Nonetheless, although everyone I’ve talked to says I will get in, I’m freaking out like I should be. Like everyone else, I’m just worried that the letter that comes will be a waitlist/rejection.

^^^ this is my motto. I am accepted into the school until I get the rejection letter!

@UDUBHUSKIES

Don’t fret! I might have mentioned I applied as a OOS even though I reside in WA (I moved from NYC on May, UW has a policy that to become IS you have to live in WA for 12 months). I think I might be one of the very first (or even first) OOS to get my decision. I think you are fine honestly, nothing to worry about. Just make sure though, when you spot that golden envelope, give a pat in the back to yourself!

i live like 30 mins outside of seattle and haven’t received a letter, so I figure I’m rejected. My stats for people who are worried:
3.26 GPA
1830 SAT (Math: 620 Writing: 600 Critical Reading: 610)
Eagle Scout (7 years in BSA)
President of Troop
Model UN for one year (didn’t offer it at my high school and was only able to join once entering running start)
Running Start student: 90+ college credits (earned associates degree)
Was hoping to get in, but I know my sat scores could have been better and my gpa was far below the norm. Still though, I am attending Western in the fall and am very excited. I really think i figured out the learning curve to studying and overall doing well in college last quarter, so I hope to be able to transfer to either UW Jackson or American U with hard work and organization. Congratulations to everyone who got in, you guys are my idols  To all those who were rejected, deferred, or waitlisted, keep your head up and remember that we are just at the beginning of our lives and not getting to UW isn’t the end of the world.

@gellsam13 are you an URM? And are you just being really skeptical, or have you actually gotten rejected?

i don’t know what the u means, but i take it rm means racial minority? I’m being skeptical i guess, but I have yet to hear of someone with my GPA who got in.

also I’m white haha, being half canadian is the closest I am to a minority :p

I feel it, haha. What “grinds my gears” is that some people have it way easier to get a higher GPA, andit seems like UW is just favoring everyone with those really high GPAs…:/

I live in seattle, literally 15 mins away from UW and I have not received any mail from them.

My Stats:
GPA: 3.57 uw
ACT: 30
Tons of EC’s
Etc.

I don’t know what the outcome will be, but I am hoping to here back tomorrow or sometime relativity soon.

URM means under represented minority

^very interesting…notice the GPA being under the 3.6 mark. I swear everyone on the first day had like a 3.6+(URM) and 3.7+ (regular). Really good test score, how do you think your essays were @Jd1221? What did the person who looked over your essay say?
