Waiting for a decision?

It says I have 0 classes taken and I can’t seem to find any check marks. I only have 1 semester done at rutgers and the ones that fall in the criminology requirements for TCNJ have prerequisites for them to be completed. So I’m hoping if I get accepted that I just need to complete the prereq and then my credit will transfer

Bdebon, I wish i could help  I’ll keep you updated with any changes to PAWS. Maybe it will show up soon? SonnerYDG, here’s to hoping for the transfer credit evaluations being a good sign! I’m waiting in angst to see what happens. And to xbsx112, i hate to ask this, but would you mind checking on PAWS to see what it says on Accept Admission and telling us? I am really sorry you were not accepted because, in my honest opinion, your resume is fantastic.

What does it mean if your transfer credits show up on you advising report?

We’re not really sure but we hope it’s a good sign!

Yea hoping anyway…I got 25 credits from the military. So the report says and they switched my major on me, I was biz marketing and now it says International Business. Wonder why?

Semper31, believe it or not they did the EXCACT same thing to me. I applied business-marketing with an alternative for international business. Here’s to hoping its a good sign. The fact that they evaluated your transfer credits means that they determined what you would enter the school with, should you be accepted. The waiting is killing me

oh they did it to you too? wonder why? anyone have any insight on this and yes I hate waiting too

My guess is they did it because there were a lot of marketing major’s who applied or they filled up that program, yet still wanted us admitted? To be honest, I’m not sure

We’re getting down to the bitter(?) end now. Has anyone seen a change in the “check admissions status” answer if you are accepted or rejected? Mine still says "you have no accepted application… Does it stay that way forever if you are rejected? What a tease the website is. It lets you see all the courses you can sign up for and descriptions of same, I think it would even let you make a payment if you tried.
How can they get the notifications of acceptance out so close to April 1? Do you think anyone gets accepted at this late date?
One other question. If TCNJ wants a freshman class of say 1500. Do they accept 1500 and ask waiting list people to replace those that are accepted and decline, or do they accept 2000 and figure they’ll get the 1500 they want?Good luck to those still waiting.

kendallandkaylan - here is my understanding of the way it works.

I believe TCNJ targets a freshman class of slightly more than 1300 students.

To achieve that goal, they will use a formula that is based on the total number of applications and an acceptance rate that takes into consideration historical trends of acceptances and yields.

Acceptance = % of applicants that the college offers admission to

Yield = % of accepted students that actually enroll

The acceptance/yield rates are somewhat precise, however, there can be variances. For instance, last year, the yield ended up being higher than predicted and the largest class ever ended up attending TCNJ. I believe 1400 or more enrolled. As TCNJ increases in popularity, that trend will probably continue.

Class of 2015:

of applicants: 10,000+

Acceptance rate: 40-48% (4000 – 4850); this will be determined by the aforementioned trends
Yield/total enrollees: 1300-1450 (approx. 30%); trends differently each year

The wait list applicants would be solicited once the down-payment cutoff date is reached and the targeted class size has not been reached.

Best of luck to you all.

my daughter applied as a transfer for internations studies she also speaks fluent Russian and we’re still waiting with all of you. she contacted tcnj this morning and they said letters were being mailed out today. really? ’ the 3rd wave’ waiting is the worst… so hang in there everyone. As I told my daughter, if you aren’t accepted, do not take it personality. this is NOT a reflection on you or anything you didn’t do to get in. I see everyone’s outstanding accomplishments be proud of all of it! If the answer is no, well it will be their loss! hang in there. thanks for listening.

Truegent, i called admissions and the reason they did it was because in Marketing there wasnt any room but they still wanted to offer me admission, so they offered it in International Business which was my second choice

Semper: funny story, i was about to write the same thing to you. I literally just got off the phone with them. So you were admitted?

Yea…you going to live on campus? or off? what language you wanting to take? did u get admitted?

I don’t think things are looking very good for me unfortunately :(

Can you guys click accept admission now with a different result?

why do you say that? they just mailed the last wave of decision today, i had to call to find out

I’m only saying that because you guys had your majors changed and credits assessed

Not yet, it will probably be official tonight at midnight. But i think you should give them a call. Just be polite and they will work with you. Best of luck!

yes thats all we did, and we only had our Majors changed because, there was no room in Marketing

Well congratulations to you two! I called the admissions office and was told that, “they don’t do that over the phone.” Of course I was very polite about it all but I think because you guys had your majors changed it was sort of a dead give away anyway. Guess I’ll have to wait for my letter!

The wait continues!
