Waiting for Groton decisions--March 10th!

I can't sit still. March 10th isn't coming fast enough! I just thought I'd start a thread of restless Groton hopefuls!

March 10th this year is on a Sunday. I think I read on the Groton website that decisions are sent out on the 10th, so they'll probably arrive to east-coasters on the 12th.

I'm applying for IInd Form, anyone else?

I’m applying for IInd form at Groton too, fingers crossed- March 10th can’t come soon enough!

I hope to see you there!! Are you applying anywhere else?

No-just Groton-its the only one with 8th grade. What about you?

Same :)
I’m assuming you’re a guy, right? I’m (obviously) a girl! Are you going to look at your decision online or wait for the letter? I’m probably going to wait for the mail unless I crack. :)

Yes-I’m a guy  I think I’m going to wait for the mail because the decision packaging is really nice. But, then again, the suspense may be too much and I’ll have to look online :)

How did you hear about Groton?

I’m not really sure. I was just googling, looking for schools for 9th grade, and I found one that would take me this year!
What about you? Don’t tell me you’re a legacy…bigger competition…just kidding…  nervous face

It would be amazing if you guys got together after being accepted to Groton. I’m applying to Groton as well. It was an amazing place and my tour guide’s sport is rifling! How cool is that? I’ve always wanted to try archery. They’ll let you do anything you want even if there isn’t a team for it. I’m really excited, but I messed up my interview pretty bad (it was my first one).

Awww that’s too bad about the interview :(. I think I did pretty well even though it was my only one just because I’m a very socially competent person… if that makes sense.
What grade are you applying for? Where else? Welcome to the thread of awesomeness! (Where awesome meets eagerness!)

Haha I’m applying for 11th grade. Andover, Sps. Lawrenceville, NMH, and Groton  It was my first interview after a 6 hour drive. I did better at the interviews in other schools ^_^

I guess I don’t really count as a legacy-my sister went to Groton for eighth grade-she’s in tenth now. I think my interview went pretty well- it was much easier than I thought it would be.AN added plus is that my interviewer knew who I was beforehand, because he interviewed my sister. PxAlaska-do you have a favorite school that you’re applying to? And by the way, are you a guy or girl?

There’s a scholarship for my state (NJ) that only SPS gives out. It’s full tuition plus 10k annually for misc expenses… Which is an amazing opportunity for me. My parents can afford it, but the extra 10k would let me travel and take extra classes. If I don’t get the scholarship, it would depend on revisit days. I liked every school and I have no preference. @Grotonguy, start a legacy! If you don’t get into Groton (knock on wood), what are your choices for 9th grade? I’m a girl.

If I don’t get into Groton (knock on wood), my choices would probably for ninth grade would probably be to reapply to Groton, SPS, and Lawrenceville (which is about an hour from where I live). My parents want me to apply to Lawrenceville if I don’t get in as it is way closer than Groton. I think I prefer Groton rather than any other boarding schools- I like the small school atmosphere and I know a lot about it.

Grotonguy, is your sister currently a student at Groton? You made it sound like she left after 8th grade.

Sorry- she still is at Groton in tenth grade, I see how my wording could make it sound like she left.

@Grotonguy, I live about 45 mins from Lawrenceville XD Are you from NJ or PA? My parents would prefer Lawrenceville as well over SPS. But if I get the scholarship, they definitely want me at SPS. Good luck to both of you!

I’m not getting the (knock on wood)…

@stargirl3, knock on wood is a saying that basically means “I’m about to suggest something that I do not want to happen. But I’m going to suggest as a hypothetical question”. So I asked what he would do if he was rejected from Groton (knock on wood). I don’t actually think he will be rejected, I just want to know hypothetically, what would he do.

Oh cool- I’m from NJ- my parents would prefer Lawrenceville over Groton only because of distance from home. But, I can only apply for Lawrenceville in ninth and I prefer Groton, so I am applying to Groton for eighth grade. Only 23 days left!
