I am thinking about waiting to receive my decision by mail. Although the account thing seems so resourceful and easy, I am remember years ago when I saw on television how kids would get theirs by mail and have the excitement of opening up the letter, and reading: "We regret to inform you" or "We are pleased to congradulate you." It seems like this is a great way to go. It is so much more tangible than the online source. I don't know which one I will do, my heart says to wait for it by mail and be excited of coming home from work on saturday (assuming we will get it by mail on saturday) and opening the mailbox, grabbing the letter, and reading my fate, however everyone else I know wants me to do it online so I will know right away. What will you guys be doing? (However, I think I already now the answer to this one) and do any of you think you might wait for it by mail?

I think the real question is, do any of you have the willpower to resist looking at the decission online?

it will be very abrupt. Not very tangible, but its there.

How abrupt do you think? Status: Rejected?

I know what you mean...if I thought I was going to get in, I'd wait for sure. However, because I think that I am going to get rejected or deferred, I want to see it online so I know what to expect...b/c I know that when I get the letter my whole fam will be hovering and if I have a nervous breakdown they will all be trying to talk to me and annoying me. Haha

But I do think the whole excitement factor is kinda dulled by the online thing...

WELL I just wanna say that I changed my mind...after reading the DARTMOUTH board (since their decisions came out today) I have come to the conclusion that I can't handle this. I'm not checking it online, and I am going to instruct my family members to get the mail for the next week, and burn it if it's from cornell. ONCE AGAIN, IGNORANCE IS BLISS.
