I am waiting for a response from the waiting list and I was wondering if it is even worth it to send in my mid year grades now. I wasn't going to send them in before because I thought that since they weren't good, they might even deny me.
I want to go to rutgers NB as that is my number one choice as of now, so should I send in my mid year grades at this point in time? The grades I had were decent, I had A's in PE and Cooking, C's in 2 AP Classes, in a random Science class, and English, Some D's, but I am failing Pre Calc. I am trying to increase my grades for the end of the year grades, but If I send in Mid year grades then they will see a failing grade and these grades.
Do you think it will increase my chances by sending in Mid years or will it hurt my chances?

I think it will do you more harm than good to submit these grades. Just wait and see. You only submit mid year grades if they are really good so the school sees you are trying and improving. Good luck.

Thanks but need more insight, more people, Help!

I don’t know how admissions works, but common sense would tell me not to submit those grades.

At this point, I think you need to formulate a Plan B.

Those are not strong grades, I would do everything in my power to hide them

Is anyone else on the waiting list this year and heard back/didn’t hear back yet?

Bump

I have a friend who was on the waiting list, he got notified yesterday and has until monday to decide

He got accepted? Dam, did he send in his mid years?

how about telling us your gpa and sat score so we can help a little. But yea what everyone says above, 2 D’s and a possible F are not going to help you. All incoming students have to show grades(online) anyway at the end.

You should start a plan B just in case because its getting late.

There are options of doing a year at community or maybe 2. Get get good grades(nothing less than a B) and reapply.

Rutgers accepts a lot of transfer students especially because students get a fresh start(pretty sure they care about college grades than highschool if you transfer).

Have a 3.15 GPA and Combined SAT score(Rutgers takes highest from each category) of 1770.
I am trying to fix up the grades so it will not look as bad for the final grades, but I hope it is not too late by then. And is it possible to send in Final transcripts to rutgers even if you were not accepted yet? Because I would think they only want it from those who are accepted, but I would also think it would help to send updated grades.

I have a Plan B but I really want to just go straight into rutgers off the waiting list.

I suggest you focus your efforts on improving your senior year grades because even if you are admitted from the waiting list, you will still need to provide a final transcript showing that you satisfactorily completed all courses in progress at the time of your admission… and any Ds or Fs on your final transcript could result in revocation of our offer of admission.

As shipponz mentioned, a year or two at a NJ county college with strong grades is a great back-up plan. If you eventually reapply as a transfer, our focus will be your college record.

hope this helps.

Well the final transcript will hopefully be better, so if it is, do you think that that will help on the decision? And would sending in a final transcript even if I am still on the waiting list help out? Also by any chance do you know how many students are on the waiting list for the fall semester?
And my back up plan is going to another college and transferring after the first year, if I don’t get in, but it would be much more helpful to be able to get in.

2.7 1300/1900. Waitlisted at NB SAS. Accepted first week of may

Really??? Did you send in your mid years? and what is the 1300/1900? Also did you accept the admission offer?

Yes i did, i had strong mid year grades. 4.0+
1300 is my combined SAT ( M + CR)
1900 is the total with W. yes i enrolled

Wow nice, if you don’t mind me asking, did you take any honors or AP classes?

Is anyone else on the waiting list this year and heard back/didn’t hear back yet?

Bump it up.

I’m a transfer and I’m waitlisted too. Still waiting for the result. Do you know anyone who’s getting off the list at this time?

I know one person who posted on this thread did in may, but it was from a high school, so he sent mid year grades and got in.
Another person posted here and said his friend did get in, but I think it was from high school again.
Didn’t hear about any wait listed transfer students though.
