Was anyone else here put on the waiting list? Do you plan to send any more information at this point?

would sending more information really help? aren't they already ranked in an order to be accepted if there's extra room?

Nope..."the list is not currently ranked," said the letter.

Can we do something to increase our chances once we've been waitlisted

Eliminate the admittees ;-) jk

Yeah
that's the most efficient way of getting accepted :)

Id rather be waitlisted than rejected even though it sorta kinda really means the same thing... -_-a

Wont it be fun if all acceptees die of schock on recieving their packages??

:p

lol, surely waitlisted people have proven they are much more creative than those accepted, especially in Satan's preferences :D

i don't know what to do.

do we even have any chance of getting in?

You must all applaud me. I've already lost my little card im sposed to send in. If April rolls around and I havent gotten in anywhere, I guess I'll call MIT for another one.

haha...I was thinking of putting "take me off the wait list, I'm going to stanford"...but I don't know if I want to go to stanford yet...so I can't do anything with that little card

I'm confused, you guys. Will they let us know their final decision before May 1st? They have to, right, cuz if they didn't they'd lose their waiting list--everyone would have signed contracts with other colleges. If they let us know post-May 1st, then there's really no point in staying on the waiting list, is there...

lets hire an assasin to bump of the acceptees....i'll throw in 100 bucks for that...anyone interested ahaahah

dont worry....we love you guys who got in...good job :) you deserve it

can someone please answer Someone's question: I'm confused, you guys. Will they let us know their final decision before May 1st?
im really curious about that.

check this OOt

Its post May 1st, you don't lose your contract, you just probably will lose your $n00 where n is a digit that makes $n00 a considerable sum of money.

Does anyone know how many have been accepted off the waiting list in recent years? It says anywhere from 1 to 150 on the letter, but I don't know if that's in the entire history of the institution or what.

sabertoothtiger, this thread has all the details:
