I'm ordering books but my Charts, Graphs, & Tables professor hasn't yet posted the books. Any idea when that should be?

I’d also like to know the answer to this. I only know 1 or 2 of my books for next semester and i am taking 6 classes.

There are several possibilities, ranging from rare to common:

-your class may not use any books…in UG, I only had this happen maybe twice
-it’s still early July, some professors don’t post books until they write the syllabus in August
-they may still be deciding, seeing if they can get something printed, etc.
-you may be using only ClassPAKs in a class, which you can only get through TIS/IU Bookstore
-some professors just don’t post books at all

No matter what, don’t worry. I’m assuming both of you are using the TIS or IU Bookstore way of checking if you have books, and that’s about all you can do. Occasionally through the summer, log onto Oncourse and check to see if any of your syllabi are posted (rarely happens, but come August it may).

I’m still waiting on info for the one book, but I thought I’d share what I’ve found about books, in case it helps you or anyone else:
Check TIS, because they sometimes have book assignments before the IU bookstore. Just make sure the section number and prof are the same before you order.
Any fine art/art history books can’t be purchased from the IU bookstore. If you want to get them on campus, you need to go to the FOA bookshop in the SOFA building.

Also, “This class does not require any textbooks” on the bookstore page just means that they don’t have the book. Confusing.

If you are at view textbooks from the student center navigation on onestart and it says you don’t need a book for the class, DON’T BUY A BOOK. The professor will discuss it on the first day if you do. I really hope you didn’t buy a book for a class that doesn’t need one, different professors operate their classes differently.

Actually, some of the art history classes seem to be that way.
