photomom5 - What email indicating they were making decisions are you referring to?

Anjalu, thanx for your post. Its very enlightening to hear your daughter’s success story and Congrats on your son’s acceptances.

Eve-we had trouble getting my son’s application to The New School submitted (user errors!) so we ended up emailing back and forth. In the last of the email confirming all his stuff was finally received, they indicated decisions were being made this week.

I auditioned at NYC unified and am surprised they still haven’t heard anything from PPU With many already have been notified.

Anjalu - wonderful and appropriate story. Professional acting is not for everyone, there is a big difference between acting for “fun” and acting for “work.”

One more acceptance today: Otterbein! That leaves us waiting on three: Webster, DePaul, and the oh-so-elusive PPU! We are inching our way closer to a final decision, I think. :)

Congrats yet again ;)

WOW ugadog - your D is getting some wonderful opportunities!

Thank you, londream. I feel a little guilty posting her acceptances. Tech is so different from performance, but I’m so proud of her. She has faced enormous adversity with her high school “teacher” and peers. These accomplishments mean so much!

Where would Actors be without Techies! LOL

Ugadog, I am absolutely delighted for your daughter. Techies are crucial to every show and your daughter has earned these acceptances!!!

OH MY GOODNESS…Still have not heard from ANY audition schools…also still waiting on several non-audition schools as well!

Congrats to ugadog and others on some wonderful options!

ANJALU: What a wonderful outcome for your daughter…which is a good case AGAINST a gap year when the audition outcome is not as planned. By being in college rather than sitting out, she found her true calling. Good for her!

Many Congrats!!!

Hang in there, skewlcounselor. This looks to be the big weekend for results!

We have our big “Acappellooza” concert this Friday night, and I know I will be itching to get back home so I can go on CC and see all the answers people have been waiting months to hear!!!

Congrats ugadog99!!!

Upgrading, I was just looking on the acceptance thread and thought wow, what a great list your d has amassed! Congrats to her!

Ugadog, Woww!! congrats your D worked very hard for this and deserves every acceptance with you at the helm guiding her. Great job!

Don’t feel guilty in the least ugadog! Well deserved! Congrats.

Great news, Ugadog! So proud of your D. Congrats to you both!

Thank you, everyone! She has clocked many, many hours in the theatre in the last four years. With all that has happened, it is really validating when these acceptances arrive.

Last night she got a call from Webster finalizing some plans for a visit over our spring break. Our break and Webster’s notification dates fall very near each other, so the visit may not happen. It was a nice call, though, that came at the end of a trying dress rehearsal for Spamalot. They open Wednesday night. Right before bed she said, “Woo! Tech Week! I love it! said NO theatre person EVER!” LOL! :)
