^^^ whatever do you mean, prodesse? :-)

Hey congrats OddDad and Eve. A very nice turn around.

Thanks ActingDad! It has been quite a bumpy road.

Thanks ActingDad:)

phew, mail came , no rejections today Congrats to all this good news!

Our mail was boring today too…much to my son’s sadness! I am so excited for those who received happy news, though and sad for those who did not.

I think many larger schools tend to post admission decisions on Friday afternoons, after the school day ends. This way, students have time to process their results (good or bad) before the admission office opens again.

Today may be the first day in a couple of years that our mailbox did not contain mail from a college. No postcards, no viewbooks, no letters, no nothin’! I feel a little…I dunno…abandoned!

I just want to say keep on swimming! This soon will be over. We are all pulling for everyone. The acceptances so far are just wonderful - so many terrific options for these kids.

We’ll have a big hurray when it’s May and it’s OVER.

I have been following the acceptance thread and this waiting thread and I can feel the tension from you all! I can’t believe we have all this in front of us over the next year. It is intimidating! I am going to try and remain as calm as possible, with all the good planning I have learned on CC and most importantly, to enjoy the time with my daughter… Who right now is teaching her first music theatre class! Times are changing. :-)

We got the PPU letter today and my S has been put on the waitlist. They say he will hear by April 1st.

I’m sorry, cjenny. I know it’s not a rejection, but still more waiting!

Still no news from PPU for us! Ugh…I know all of you are performance who are hearing from Point Park, so it’s a different department entirely, but I really, really hope we hear something soon!

Thanks ugadog99- It was a Unified audition at the last part of the day. My S felt it was rushed and just an OK audition for him so I am not very surprised. Good luck to you!

PPU requested an early decision so hopefully your S will be off the list quickly!

I’m still waiting to hear from Point Park, Pace, The New School, and Carnegie Mellon. I know it is often said no news is good news but at this point in the game when everyone is finding out it makes me a little uncomfortable especially when others have had their news for about a week or so i.e. Point Park and Pace because I don’t believe The New School or Carnegie Mellon has announced their rejections or acceptances yet. I’m just nervous…

We are waiting for The New School too…they sent an email indicating they were making decisions last week.

amtc - thank you and thank you! This is my second time going through this (first time for MT with a D instead of Drama with a s) and I can say without a doubt you are 100% correct. The concerns are a little different this time around, given my son’s options and the financial climate now four years later but, many are exactly the same. My d wound up at a non-audition school as an MT BA major and sign language minor after auditioning and not being accepted for an MT BFA at about 7 schools. She will graduate this year with a minor in Theatre, a major in Therapeutic Recreation, several certifications and speaking sign language! She is gloriously content with her choices, loves her school and wants to work with terminal and disabled kids in the future. Turns out that her passion for acting was more to be able to express herself than to perform for audiences. The first year was NOT easy and coming to the realization that the only thing she had identified herself as for 10+ years was not what she wanted to do with her life was a tough time for her. But, I can say without any doubt that they do come out the other side, as do you!

Love your post Anjalu-- so true. They are growing in wonderful directions and there are so many great surprises along the way.

Agreed, thanks for posting, Anjalu!

Anjalu, what a great path your daughter has chosen. Thank you for sharing.
