Has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet? Does anyone know how many Dartmouth will most likely take off this year?

my counselor called admissions. They said they'd notify waitlist students towards late May/early June. They also said they're expecting to take somewhere between 20-40 students of about 700 waitlisted.

It looks as though they won't be taking anyone off the waitlist this year, or at least, very very few: www.thedartmouth.com

I'd expect to see about 25 taken off the WL.

If history repeats it self there will be 16 admitted from the waitlist

1200 offered
700 took a spot
16 admitted

Well, it depends how you define "waitlist." A year ago, there were 2,150 admits announced in May, but there wound up being 2,171 when the CDS form was filed.

I'm guessing that Dartmouth will, musical chairs fashion, lose a few more tentative matriculants due to waitlist action at other schools this year - including Harvard. It may depend on whether Dartmouth settles for something near the 1,074 matriculants they had last year, or shoots for a slightly higher number.

The year before, a similar yield rate and a class of 1,077 required 24 admits from the WL.

ah this is so depressing...i have given up hope...

"As the numbers now stand, Furstenberg said that the admissions office does not anticipate having to use its waitlist. "

FU CK , and my other waitlists are looking bad too!
...looks like its my shi tty-safety for me! :(

still, though, when are we supposed to hear back from Dartmouth? Mid-May? Late May? Because it IS mid May right now, so my guess is late May.

Or halfway into my sophomore year of college. :P
