Waitlist 2024 - Are Colleges going to waitlist early?

So far a lot of colleges (that usually don’t) went to wait lists earlier but there are no data yet as to the numbers of accepted wl students. The “early” part might be a new strategy to secure wl students and not necessarily an indication of higher numbers.

Colleges are typically not transparent wrt waitlist numbers.

Some publish waitlist numbers in section c2 on the CDS…including number offered a waitlist spot, those who accepted a waitlist spot, those admitted from the waitlist. There is not a line for those admitted from the waitlist who chose to enroll.
