waitlist an English R1A?

Hello,

Im wondering how safe would it be to be waitlisted as #1 for an R1A? Will I get the class, or should I spend my 4 units of phase 1 on another R1A that has open seats? The only reason I waitlisted myself is because of the professor... good reviews on ratemyprofessor... compared to the other 99% who are non-existant on the review site... (Melendez, Goodwin, Ring,Eyber, Ngyuyen, Auclair, Bartlett, Wright, Eagle, Lenkin, Cecire, LEIBOWITZ)

all inputs appreciated!

English R1A classes are notoriously difficult to get in but at the top of the waitlist, you are set. A good rule of thumb is to take the class size, take 10 percent of that number, and that gives you the "safe" number of waitlisted seats. Many people sign up for more untis then they intend to take or wind up changing sections. I am sure at least 1 seat will open up. Hell, it might open up the first day of class (so show up even if you aren't on the waitlist).

kk ty very much
