Waitlist and Accepted?

<p>So I got waitlisted to Exeter, my top choice school. I got accepted however to Choate. I realize that getting off a waitlist is very difficult. Could I put myself on the waitlist at Exeter but also accept the offer at Choate and see what happens from there?</p>

<p>Also, how do succesful waitlisted applicants get off the waitlist? Do I send in more awards, call consistently and persist that it's my 1st choice school?</p>

<p>Well if choate is your only admittance then yea accept it. If you find you get off the exeter waitlist then you can contact choate but you will have to forfeit your deposit. I would say accept choate but harp on the admission office at exter and hey, you might get lucky. If you don’t choate is a grate school.</p>

<p>Please know that although it is possible to come off a waitlist, the odds are very small. You can accept an offer at Choate, but you will have to pay the deposit to hold your space. If you are lucky enough to come off the waitlist at Exeter, you would forfeit your deposit to Choate. </p>

<p>I am a strong believer in the advice “Love the School that Loves You!” Choate sees something in you that it LOVES - they chose YOU out of hundreds and hundreds of applicants to be a part of their school. Maybe it’s time to “love them back” and move on down the path. (I LOVE this Mary Engelbreit drawing . . . )</p>

<p>Agree completely with Mountainhiker. Choate is superb, absolutely on par with Exeter.</p>

<p>Woah I didn’t know about the whole deposit thing. Thanks to everyone who informed me of that. Well I believe it’s now Choate Class of 2016 :)</p>

<p>Go and get Choate bling and wear it…What is the worst, that you will have to give it to a friend who is going if Exeter takes you off the WL?–assuming you want to pursue the WL.</p>
