Anyone know what the chances of getting in off the waitlist have been in previous years? Also since you need to commit to another college by May 1 and you don’t find out about the waitlist until much later what happens to your first commitment? Do you just lose your deposit?

I don't know at all about the chances of getting in off the waitlist, but as far as your second question goes: yes. If you get off the waitlist and decide to come to Brandeis you just lose your deposit from the first school.

lfrieden.... Have you been waitlisted at Brandeis?

I got a letter at the beginning of the week that I am waitlisted at Stonehill, the letter said that if they do decide to take me it will be after May1 and they realize I will have already commited someplace else. It went on to say they will refund that deposit of up to $400 if I decide to attend Stonehill.
Assuming you have been waitlisted, did Brandeis offer anything like this?

Brandeis didn't mention anything about returning the deposit. However, with the costs of the private universities a deposit of that size is pretty small compared to the thousands of dollars college will cost.
