So supposedly, they will open more spaces for frosh enrolling in popular courses such as chem6a right? If there is a prof I want to have, is it worth the waitlist? and does anyone know how many classes you can waitlist? Do people ususally get off the waitlist?

i think u can only have 1 waitlist but im not too sure

Which profs are good?

Wait, there are already waitlists? When did enrollment start? My appointment is not until the 24th of August, so is that the soonest I can enroll?

Enrollments starts on the 22nd.

when does enrollment end? and does anyone know why so many of the MMW courses (applies to ERC only) are already full? I thought MMW 1 was for freshman only.

they're reserved for freshmen and will open on the 22nd. there has been lots of postings about this kind of stuff around..

Where can we go to look at our course reccommendations prior to our actual enrollment appointment time? The reccomendations that are based on our filling out of the my academic info/history or something like that.

Sorry I don't know about course recommendations, but for professor recommendations, you can look at the CAPE evaluations under schedule of classes; I don't really find these helpful. What is helpful is ucsdprofessor.com, or ratemyprofessor.com, but i prefer the first one...

As for 6A teachers, I'm pretty sure they're all good. Hoeger is supposedly the hardest; I had... uh. i think Opella and he was easy but a joke; Sawry is also good. For waitlists, in big chem classes, I would say that at least the 1st 10 on the w/l get in. After that, it's a little chance-y.

If someone tells me who the profs are I can answer... I'm too lazy to look

And, take Jordan for MMW1 if he teaches. He's semi hard and his final requires that you bring TWO scantrons, but he's a funny funny man! =)

kendallh, go to http://newstudent.ucsd.edu and look around for your recommendations. I can't give more specific instructions because the website for each college is different.
