Waitlist + ED

Does anyone know the probability of being defered?

0%…I think NYU does not waitlist ED applicants.

I think for Cornell, most of the ED applicants are deferred.

anyone know how many deferred people are accepted? lol same as all other RD applicants? lol

aside from being accepted after deferrals, I know people who got guaranteed transfers.

I’m probably going to be deferred…so…doesn’t that mean my chances automatically decrease? because the acceptance rate of RD is lower.

I think the acceptance rate is lower just because there are so many other people who apply

that’s true too, though I dont think i can survive another 3+ months waiting one more time :/

ahh my bad! I was reading the NYU forum at the same time so I thought that inever was asking about NYU deferral…

But, don’t deferred people still have an advantage in RD round? I mean, wouldnt the adcoms consider that even though they are in the RD round with all other applicants, Cornell was ideally there 1st choice, thus meaning that if accepted they would more than likely matriculate to the University other than the other RD applicants, who might not attend Cornell, since it might not have been there 1st choice, and in General, it would seem as though the deferred ED applicants would appreciate being accepted to Cornell more, since it was their 1st choice?

I’d take a look at the 2013 ED thread for some anecdotal results.
