I was contacted via phone.
I had to turn it down though, because Middlebury turned out to be too expansive to afford.

I just got in off the waitlist!!!
omgomgomg

congrats, Ihatemylife. did they call you?

yesss
and then I proceeded to cry on the phone with my reader
I am so happy

I think you need a new screen name: Ilovemylife
Congratulations!!!

Congrats!!!

omg. have just had terrible thought that I didn't send back my yes for the wait list. aaaaaaargh... no way to check now, unless they call me. and if they don't, i'll never know if they didn't want me or if it was because of my idiocy....

guys!! I heard Middlebury has enough enrollments for its freshman seats. Are they going to take international students in from the waitlist? I have emailed them twice, but they haven't responded yet.

What do you think?

to juliet, you can just call and ask them if they received your notification.... i did that... no problems at all with it...

about internationals, its bad luck. I talked to them last week, and they said that they had overenrolled on internationals and also some budget for the internationals... so unless enough ints withdraw to make them underenroll and the budget to be under control, they won't take any internationals... :(

sad for us... right..

I am still on the waitlist... It is June 12. Why?!

me too,. the waitlist is dead, but they wanna keep us alive, just a little longer, hehe :)

Has anyone gotten a letter saying "OK now you are really rejected - we have everyone we need off the wait list"? or is everyone still on the waitlist?

no.. no letter for me yet... though I am international... and a long way off..

I think it is highly unlikely that Middlebury will accept any international student from its waitlist.
Anyway, I just got the news last Friday: I am accepted into Amherst College with a great financial aid award. OFF THE HOOK. ==> I am going to Amherst no matter what.
Good luck to all those who have been waiting so long

Yeah, Middlebury just posted thier class profile for the class of 2012. It says 49 students were taken from the waitlist. Sounds like the class is pretty much set to me, although if Amherst is still using its waitlist, other schools may need to as well.

Looks like the percentage of students in the top 10% of their high school class hit an all time high this year--86% (compared to 82% last year).

Class Profile

My son has enrolled at Midd and is on another school's waitlist. This waitlist thing is akin to "dying a slow death" and I can understand what those of you still on Middlebury's waitlist are going through. The college application process this year has been very capricious and decision outcomes in many cases have been unfair.

I was waitlisted to the Villanova School of Business. Anyone in the same boat? Anyone with any insight into the inner workings of the Villanova waitlist?

Not to be silly.. but why would people on the middlebury thread understand the Villanova waitlist?

I really don't want to be in this boat because I love Middlebury so much and have a lot to offer :(.
