Waitlist Thread

chicki:

check agora for a 6th tab/link (which is a good indication that a fat envelope is in the mail).

I checked and sadly, only 5! I know they sent out a bunch of replies saying yes last week or the week before but I still don’t know if they’re going to continue to turn to the waitlist!

COLMOM,
Congrats on your son getting off the BC wait list. Has your son decided where he will be going next year?

Yep, he’s off to BC.

do they send you a letter even if you didn’t get in off of waitlist? or do they send you regardless of your decision?

also, how late will they go to tell you about your decision?

anyone still pending? i haven’t heard anything.
did people already get rejected/accepted?

@ 2006 BC waitlist thread

alot of ppl got accepted around this time. early june-ish

last year it was mid-June…every year can be different.

they accepted ppl all the way til mid june?

do u know the numbers on how many got in off Waitlist? or how many is on the list?

sorry, rbk, but I don’t have any first-hand information. I just searched cc and found a WL thread from last year that indicated movement in the second week of June (but I did not dig deep to see if that was the Frosh WL or a transfer WL). But, every year will be different. Moreover, the numbers really much matter. At this point, every college is using its WL to fill “holes” in its class. They could take 100+ off the WL, but if your app does not have what is needed to fill that hole, it won’t matter.

thanks for the info bluebayou.
can you send me the link of that thread? thanks

when is the last day they tell us if we got in or not? July first?

here you go, rbk. It looks like final decisions went out the second week of June.

But again, EVERY year is different. Last year it was Havard and Princeton dropping early admissions. This year it’s the economy.

Just yesterday, MIT took someone of of its WL. The student had already deposited to Yale. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that Yale will now pull someone off of their WL since Y could have been oversubscribed. Or being full of smart adcoms, Yale might recognize that it loses a few folks every summer (to H or MIT or due a gap year) so Yale already has that “summer melt” built into their May 31 target of deposits. Thus, they plan for summer melt.

Thank You Again.

Oh well. Looks like it’s an F for failure for me. lol

nah…I would only take this with a grain of salt. It is highly doubtful this alphanumerical combination has any sort of significance relating to our waitlist status…

yeah i know 2 ppl that has the same thing
