Waitlisted - Going to accept?

For those that got waitlisted, are you going to accept a spot? I am, and I’m hoping for the best!

Yea i am going to accept mine to i hope i get in.

Ya I got waitlisted too. So I am definitely going to accept and stay on the list.

My S is going to bail the waitlist and go to Uconn.

I don’t think I will, because I’m already in Nova. Even if I don’t get in to my others I think I’m just going to go to Nova. I had them about the same on my list, but I would rather not waste the deposit for a 10% chance at best at getting in to BC.

are they really gonna not let us know before May 1? i accepted teh spot but what if we get in somewhere better. how does it work?

Waitlisted, I’m going to “bail” too and go to Lehigh. The letter I received today said they won’t give you an answer, or guarantee it, before May 1st and I’m not going to gamble my future. Oh well. What will be will be…

The point is you have to tell your second choice school that you’re going and then put down your deposit, but if you get accepted to BC off the waitlist then you withdraw from the other school, lose your initial deposit, but then get to get into the school. I know I wish it wasn’t this way but it’s the only way to do it…

Right. You only lose admission deposit $ if you’re accepted off the wait list and decide to attend BC. Even then, if you’re like my daughter, and BC is cheaper than her current option, you might actually save $! All this of course, if they admit you before additional non-refundable “Housing” deposits start kicking in, in our case, 6/1. I know they say July 1 is their deadline, but I expect and hope they offer off the WL by late May…

i think i’m gonna stay on for now, although i’m still waiting to hear back from a few schools. i got in to northwestern yesterday, though, so i might just go there. lol how did that happen…accepted at northwestern and waitlisted at bc?

I don’t know if I should bother. I can’t afford it unless they give me REALLY good financial aid and I already have an okay school to go to.

If you are put on the waitlist, will they tell you how much financial aid you might get? I kinda would like to know my fin. aid information from them before I accept the waitlist spot…

Yeah I would like to know as well if they tell you soon or you have to wait to see if you get in.

nopeee…i got into NYU and i would deff pick NYU over BC soo im not going to bother

Peopleeee whooo typeee likeee thisss needd to stayyyyy awayyyy fromm BC.

Thanks!

just got waitlisted today and i accepted my spot on it…i don’t think i will end up going there even if they did offer it to me, because i don’t want to be all stressed all spring for something that has a tiny percent of even happening
i am disappointed, but hey, better than being rejected outright!! :)

D got waitlisted, which is better than a denial I suppose. She accepted on the spot. However, because she was accepted by 'Nova and they’re in the Final Four, GO WILDCATS!

Dear workaholic1 : Regarding However, because she was accepted by 'Nova and they’re in the Final Four, GO WILDCATS! … anyone who doubts that Jay Wright can bring to a basketball program is not paying attention!

Although several years back now, Hofstra’s loss was certainly 'Nova’s gain. (Besides, Pitt looked beatable all tournament and finally couldn’t pull it together. Villanova vs. UConn … Big East in the finals for sure!)

We now return you to your regular BC channel!

I got waitlisted but opted not to put my name on. I already got into Villanova and BC wasn’t a top choice for me anyway. Good luck to anyone who decides to go for the waitlist though.

Does anyone else think that because of the current economic climate, the yield rate this year, as well as the number of people who accept spots on the waitlist, will be lower?
