Waitlist UCF 2020

WOO HOO! congratulations!

Just curious, does anyone know how long it takes to complete all the parts of the math placement test? Can it all be done in one day or is it more of like a week long process?

Give yourself a lot of time to do it. You do the Algebra practice and practice test, then take the real test. If you pass, you move on to Trigā€“practice, practice test, real test. If you pass that, you move onto Calc. It is supposed to be pretty difficult. But the big issue is people tend to get locked out indiscriminately and it takes a couple days for them to reset everything.

What do you mean they tend to get locked out? Why does it lock them out?

@bdestiny25 Iā€™m so happy for you ! Congratulations ?

I checked my email and it said they are unable to offer me admission at this time but will continue to evaluate their enrollment goals and Iā€™ll still be on the waitlist. Do I still have hope?

This is the first I am hearing of an email like that but from the sound of it it seems like you are still on the waitlist? So yes there is hope because at least they havenā€™t rejected you. Have you tried asking for an expedited decision?

Sorry I meant to say, I checked my email to see I was notified this on my MyUCF ( Iā€™m really anxious so it came out wrong sorry ). No I didnā€™t ask for one and Iā€™m not sure if I can now as they said they canā€™t offer admission at this time but I can still stay on the waitlist. I donā€™t know what to do

Update: I spoke with admissions and they say Iā€™ll still be considered in the coming months but knowing UCF theyā€™ll probably oversight me. They said I can expedite my decision and a spot could open up but Iā€™m afraid it will be a hard no. Iā€™ve seen a lot of you guys have success with expedited decisions so should I do it?

Well my expedited decision was successful but I also feel like it was because of the time that I requested one. I only requested it because I saw how others were successful so I gave it a shot. Recently I havenā€™t seen as much get in from an expedited decision. My guess is because since May 1st passed people made a final decision so more spots were taken? I donā€™t really know. But considering that the deadline to choose a school already passed and the fall term is coming up in August, do you have a backup school that you were accepted to that you already paid for? If so I would suggest requesting one because if you get rejected then at least you have a school to go to. UCF seems to take long with their waitlist decisions so I feel like you might be waiting for a long time if you decide to wait.

If you have an acceptable school where you are already accepted, I would NOT risk expedited decision.

I DO think the timing matters, as daliyahsteven said above, but now the timing is different.

I talk to a lot of other parents ā€“ a couple at UCF, but also others who have FTIC students going to other schools. The combination of covid-19 and the uncertainty of the nature of classes and other college activities is causing some parents to seriously reconsider whether to send their kids away to college this Fall.

There are going to be changes, and those changes will open up waitlist spots. Obviously nobody can give any guarantees, but right now the possibility of a hard no is a risk I wouldnā€™t take.

Also, today is the first day for enrollment for Summer B admissions ā€“ so itā€™s the first day when UCF will REALLY know that students are actually NOT coming to UCF.

Thank you guys for helping me along with all of this. I feel like weā€™ve all become a family. I was accepted into Summer 2020 today. I hope the best for everyone still waiting and I would recommend expediting if you feel confident. Go after what you want guys! I love you all

YAY Congrats!!! Im so happy for youā˜ŗļø. Did you request the expedited decision or did you wait?

Iā€™m not sure exactly what goes wrong, but people complain that it freezes up or shuts down and they canā€™t get back in. They have to email the math test people and it takes a couple days to reset everything for you. So donā€™t wait until the last minute to take the tests.

For some majors, a chemistry pre-test is also required, and there have been problems with that.

It requires an email requesting to take the test, and then they send you a link to the actual site. Those requests were not being responded to at all, and the Parents Orientation folks got an earful Monday night during one of their sessions.

Early Tuesday morning, the links were emailed, lol! Hopefully it wonā€™t be a problem for anyone here.

Thanks for the help! I actually already completed it with no problems though thankfully.

@daliyahsteven I expedited it yesterday morning. I would recommend it! and thank you so much

Youā€™re welcome! I knew expediting your decision was the right move. Canā€™t wait to see you at UCFā¤ļø

Iā€™m so late but congratulations!! That is exciting news, Iā€™m happy for you! The wait is finally over.

This thread has been dead for a while, but I need some help. When is the date everything is due for Summer B? And I sent my 2019-2020 FAFSA but it says they havenā€™t received it?
