Waitlist UCF 2020

It takes a couple of days for them to catch up. If you don’t hear in a week, I would check.

What other deadlines are you worried about?

If you have something pending it should show either on your To Do list or as a Hold.

Your Orientation Hold will not be removed until you complete orientation and are within just a few minutes of your appointed time to actually enroll.

So I found out today I got accepted for summer after emailing for an expedited decision. Do I still have time for completing a new fafsa for 2019-2020 because summer b starts in 2 weeks. Also when would I have to pay for enrollment and register for classes if anyone knows thank you.

After you clicked accept for them offering you admission what happened because I don’t want to click agree and then I would have to do something I would not want to do then and there.

Okay, first Congratulations!

So, the first thing that happens when you accept the offer is you have to pay a $200 enrollment deposit. It’s a deposit and will be credited to your Summer B tuition.

Then you will get a couple of things pretty quickly, and I’m not sure in what order.

One will be the ID you use to sign into MyUCF and the portals off of that. Very important. And you will also have to establish your KnightsMail school email account.

You will get the opportunity to sign up for Orientation. You will select, or will be assigned, a two-day session – all of which will be online. The second day of that orientation will be some in-depth advising sessions on Zoom, followed by your actual enrollment.

But before you get to THAT part of Orientation, you will have to complete a detailed 7-part online orientation. You will also have to take a Math placement test, and depending on your major you might have to take a Chemistry placement test.

There is also a separate Parents Orientation, and it is very worthwhile for your parents. It started a few weeks ago, but all the previous sessions are available for viewing online. I forget the fees for your orientation and your parents, but they are minimal.

You will have to submit an immunization record from your doctor.

You will have to submit FINAL high school transcripts.

You will apply for housing if you want to stay in the dorms. That requires a $250 refundable deposit and I believe all on-campus housing is on a waiting list at this time.

You DO have to complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA, but I don’t know the deadline. It might be prior to registration.

Your ACTUAL TUITION and DORM rental will not be due until after Summer B actually starts on June 22.

It’s a lot of stuff, and I’ve probably missed a couple of things, but I think all of it will be shown on your MyUCF Student Self Service pages. Be sure to check your To Do List and Holds often. The Orientation Hold will not go away until during the actual enrollment process, but the other stuff needs to be handled as promptly as you can.

Once you do your acceptance, you will be bombarded by emails and every one of them is important, so pay attention.

Good luck and let us know if you have any questions.

My orientation date is coming up soon (June 15-16) and wanted to know has anyone here had orientation already? If so how does it work? Do they send you an email the day before with a link to the zoom or do you have to access it from the UCF web courses?

Yes – link to the Zooms.

You will receive links on your KnightsMail, not your regular email. We actually missed the first day, lol, but it didn’t matter.

The second day, you will get a Zoom link for an advising session. That will be a large group session at first, and then there will be breakouts to much smaller sessions. I think my daughter’s breakout had 5 or fewer people in it.

I think that first session was supposed to be from 10 AM to Noon, but it went somewhat longer than that. As long as someone is asking questions, they are answering and the answers are perfect – detailed, accurate, and perfectly responding to your questions.

After that session, my daughter got another link to another Zoom scheduled a little before her scheduled enrollment appointment. That was one-on-one and cleared up any last minute questions. The advisor also gave her a list of additional sections of courses she was registering for which had just been released for enrollment.

For enrollment itself, you will already have your courses in your Shopping Cart. The actual enrollment appointment will not open up until just before the appointed time. My daughter’s appointment was at 3 PM, and it didn’t open until about 2:55-2:57.

Enrollment is super easy and quick.

Added note: If you’re starting in the summer, you will enroll first for Summer B. Then you’ll go back, change the term to Fall, and register for Fall.

So have your courses for BOTH terms in your Shopping Cart, and be prepared to ask any questions you may have about classes in BOTH terms during the advising sessions.

Good luck, and Charge On!

Thanks! That was super helpful.

Also has anyone that applied and been confirmed for on campus housing got any email to select which room they want to live in? I was confirmed a while ago and on the housing portal it says that Fall 2020 room selection will begin in June and that appointment times will be emailed. Has anyone gotten that email yet?

Yes. Jeneric’s daughter got June 10 (Rosen Campus) and my daughter’s roommate group got Jun 17 (Towers).

Those both just happened in the last 2-3 days.

UCF put out a lot of information today about their plans for Fall. Make sure you go to the website and read Plans and Updates for Returning to Campus.

So they received an email beforehand telling them their appointment times to choose which rooms they wanted?

Yes she received an email a couple of days ago. She is a returning resident, not a freshman. Do you know what dorm you are confirmed for? UCF stated today that they are limiting doubles because of Covid-19, so maybe some of those dorms will be later for room selection??? That is only a guess.

I got confirmed for Academic Fall 20 & Spring 21. I saw all the information that UCF put out today about housing and stuff so im not sure if since im a freshmen if they will make me share a room or not.

Were you supposed to be in one of the shared rooms?

I’d be pretty surprised if they didn’t change all the dorm rooms single-occupant, at least for this academic year. I don’t know how many shared units they have, but I don’t think it’s a huge percentage.

I think only Towers people have received appointment dates. I don’t anyone in Academic have received appointments. I know the people in the out of state LLC in Neptune have not received them yet.

Jeneric’s daughter is not in Towers. She’s in Rosen.

I emailed housing and this is what they told me: “The room selection dates are scheduled to be as follows: Rosen - June 11th through June 15th; Towers - June 16th through June 22nd; NorthView - June 16th through June 22nd; UnionWest - First week of July; and Academic Main - Second week of July.”

Incase anyone wants to know the specific dates for the rest of the housing facilites.

THANK YOU!
