I was waitlisted from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications for the class of 2019. In the letter, they said that they would let us know after June 1st. The vagueness of the “June 1st” really kills me, because I’d just rather know. When do you think I should expect to hear back?
In general, one should treat the wait list as a rejection. Of course people do get in to schools off the wait list, so don’t be discouraged. Did you get into other schools?
Have your GC call expressing your continued interest. Send your rep an emial of continued interest with any updates or accomplishments since you last sent them an email
@MrAustere I committed to University of Missouri (Mizzou) and that’s pretty exciting, but I still had hope for 'Cuse. @SaphireNY my guidance counselor is useless… he barely has time to fit me in to even talk about what my name is. (he calls me Karen… my name is Katie…) I have sent Syracuse a few emails of continued interest with my accomplishments… what else can I do?
@kidacat Truthfully, I don’t think there is much you can do. I hope for the best, good luck!
Politely call your regional rep just to touch base and to let him or her know that you are stll interested. Also have you checked the wait list thread for Syracuse on the specific school part on here? You will see if anyone has gotten in or been updated and what they have been doing.
