I was placed on the Stern Waitlist. What are the chances of getting off of it? Is there anything I can do at this point to find out more information or help get an acceptance?

what are your #s?

You're still in the game--Don't lose hope, elite colleges are using the waitlist a lot more these days. Top colleges (NYU included) commonly use waitlisting as part of their strategy to increased yield (waitlisted students in general are weaker than those accepted RD and tend to be more likely to attend).

I recommend you let NYU know, in no uncertain terms you are interested.

thanks jwblue. what exactly can i do to let Stern realize how interested i am. its's my top choice.

I'm sure they'll ask if you're interested in having a place on the waitlist. Perhaps you can also let them know your enthusiasm for NYU-- send in additional materials like another recc. letter or let them know of your latest EC's and grades (if they are good).

Good luck and keep us posted.
