Congratulations to all who got accepted! I got into Teppers as well. However, I was waitlisted at ECE and SCS. I'd like to ask how does the waitlist system work? When/How will you be informed if you've been accepted/rejected?

i wouldn't say its easier, but SCS and CIT are THE most competitive schools in CMU, its their flagship programme.

i've always believed US universities are selective in their own special way. i know friends who got rejected from "easy" schools and got into premiere universities.

Good question. I would have thought waitlist on CIT(ECE) should have resulted in admission in CIT (undeclared) at least. First thing you will have to think and decide is: would you accept Tepper even if waitlist does not clear. Based on May 1st date, you will have to accept Tepper if you want to go to CMU. That will reduce their incentive to clear you off of your waitlist. If you don't accept Tepper at all, then you want to basically bug them w your interest. I am still surprised you did not get CIT. That reduces your chances of waitlist clearance at CIT-ECE.
