OK, pretty much I've given up on being admitted straight up anymore so I'm already going to ask this. Does Anyone know how many people get in off the waitlist, what percentage it is and if being in state help? Also I go to a school that sends about 75-100 people to UM every year. Does being from a school like that actually help since it is more probable that students from my school are going to succeed at UM. So what would be the most likely type of student to get in?

Not so sure anyone here can answer that specifically since no one here is in admissions.

I assume waitlist ( or worst term: wastelisted) acceptance rate varies around 37% according to collegeprwler though I am unsure which year the data was for.

Well someone has to have had some experience right? So maybe I could get a rough idea.

37% sounds Ok I suppose. I guess it’s a lot better than the 5% I heard from someone.

Yeah but still very low especially for one to be considering an acceptance after waitlisted.

Well do you know if it helps to be in state? And the chance isn’t too bad considering 2 out of 5 get accepted and that you have already decided to go elsewhere. So it’ll probably come as a pleasant surprise.

Just hope that you’ll be admitted, cause UM is still focusing on those applicants who were not deferred. Then they would consider the deferred applicants. Finally, if there are any spots open, call the best of the best waitlisted applicants. Just wish for the best. I don’t think being instate, out of state, which high school you go to matters, if at all, at this point. Sorry.

“UM is still focusing on those applicants who were not deferred.”

oh, jesus christ. when are we deferrees hearing back, if EVER?

I’m so tempted to just say screw Michigan but this has always been the school I wanted to go to so all I can do is hope.

I thought Michigan was looking at all applicants still not just the regulars decision ones. Where did you get that information from?

Hey everyone,

I know it’s getting closer and closer to the last round of decisions being sent out, but try your best to stay clam until that point. As a current U of M student I have a lot of friends that were deferred and then accepted in mid-April when the last decisions were sent out. Furthermore, I also know a number of people that were waitlisted and found out in early/late June they were accepted.

So for the meantime, I know it’s hard but don’t give up hope! Good luck to you all!

Yeah I think we will hear by mid-April, possibly during spring break. I’ve read somewhere that UMich does not reject ER applications ( which includes me), being deferred in November if I get waitlisted I will simply decline the invitation as technically its a rejection.
