Hey everyone!
Well, I just received the news that I was actually waitlisted for Cornell, which is really crazy for me because I never even dreamed about possibly getting waitlisted at an Ivy. So I confirmed that I want to continue to be on the waitlist for CALS and there was the option to be considered for their “First-Year Spring Admission”, which I also chose to be considered for. SO finally, to my question: I know the chances of getting off the waitlist for Fall Admission is quite low, but does anybody know the chances for being accepted to their spring semester? Do you have a preference or any sort of advantage?
My son got in on the CALS guaranteed deferred spring admission, but it did not include a waitlist? He was asked in the Fall if he wanted the spot, and at that point, he declined. Are you saying you’re on the regular waitlist AND the CALS guaranteed spring admission?
@osserpusser When reserving my spot on the wait list for the fall semester, there was an option as to whether I would like to be considered for First-Year Spring Admission as well. I’m sure it means that’s I’m not guaranteed a spot but I was wondering if maybe by being on the waitlist I would have an advantage for attending the spring semester?
Ah, I see. I’m sorry I can’t help you specifically, then. My son was guaranteed deferred admission. I would call the School ASAP and ask about Freshman Connection. You can be fully admitted as a Spring 2016, and I believe that can be an actual admission and not an extension of the waitlist. Good luck!
@1ondonbridge I am in the exact same situation as you lol. From some of the threads on here, it looks like some poeple have already been admitted into the FYSA program, though the actual waitlist letter implied that we would find out in the coming weeks if we were accepted or not.
