WAITLISTED APPLICANTS Class of 2019

@Massmom2015 I really wish you’d stop saying 'it would be nice if there was more transparency," as you’ve said for the 10th time. What you’re asking for is for BC to rank its waitlist, but there must be a valid reason they opted against that. I understand your frustration, because we are all on the same boat, but there’s nothing for us to do but sit still and hope for the best.

@HelloJennifer I since there is a bit a frustration in your post and shouldn’t be directed to anyone in particular. I merely said that the waitlist applicants that are in a more favorable postion should remain on that list any all other should be notifed as soon as possible, so that they are not holding any further expectations of admissions. Please remember this forum is for positive and congratulatory comments. The coment was not directed at you, I recall wishing you good luck.

Hi- @sadumwallace -how were you able to see on the portal? It says they don’t post admission decisions online so I’m just curious, was there some sort of financial aid tab?

I emaild the local representative yesterday and she replied saying that they had reached their enrollment goal for the fall and would send official notification to students remaining on the waitlist very shortly.

@midp3259 we went to the portal, and clicked on a P tab that was now there. P tab is pay enrollment fee. When we clicked on that, it asked if we wanted to decline admission or pay. We were also told by our rep that son would receive an admission packet in the mail this week rather than an email. Our son will be declining admission to BC.

@midp3259 Can you please tell me me which school he applied to? CAS CSOM? Thanks sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you…Best Wishes!

The sage advice from our school’s college counselors, is to embrace the school the student has committed to at this point (wear the college sweatshirt, etc.) and if the student comes off the waitlist, make a decision then. I have heard of kids coming off of waitlists almost at the beginning of a school year. So I think this is good advice from the college counselors.

I think you’re referring to my post. He applied to CAS and ended up choosing between Michigan, Hamilton and Bucknell-chose Bucknell and is now sticking with it, despite being really interested in BC before.

I applied to CSOM and unfortunately I’m losing hope… It sounds like everyone who’s getting in now is getting into CAS :frowning:

Haven’t been on in a couple weeks…my d declined acceptance to CAS. BC offered ZERO financial aid or merit and my daughter was reminded by her principal and guidance counselor BC is not any better than all the other schools which accepted her and awarded her high merit awards. GOOD LUCK to all! PS…We are so less stressed in this house.

BC Admissions tweeted on Friday saying that (they hope) to finish all waitlist decisions within this upcoming week.

Got my email, officially rejected from BC. It stings, but at least it’s over…

@ocomea15 do you mind me asking if your last name is at the beginning of the alphabet? I haven’t received anything so maybe they’re sending the emails out in waves, possibly alphabetically?

@midp3259 my last name starts with O and I’m from PA and applied to CSOM. Good luck! Hope not receiving anything means good news!

Has anyone else received any sort of email? I still haven’t gotten anything.

@midp3259 I got an email at 2:30 pm on Tuesday titled “Boston College Admission Decision.” Live in CA, last name starts with J, applied to CAS, showed no interest at all lol (I really shouldn’t have accepted a spot on the waitlist but w/e)

S also received the rejection email on Tuesday, 6/2. Although there was a good possibility he would have attended CSOM had he been accepted instead of waitlisted (he was also deferred from EA), he quickly realized the chances of being selected from the waitlist were remote at best. Committed to Lehigh Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program and never looked back. BC’s loss, Lehigh’s gain.

@midp3259 I would suggest you call admissions and ask where you stand at this point. S’s letter says that their freshman class for September is filled. Best of luck!

Boston College Admission

The ‪#‎BC2019‬ wait list has been officially cleared. All students were notified via e-mail.

@DevlinHall208 Would it be too late to send in an email expressing interest? I want to send in one, but I’m not sure if it would be helpful with decisions coming out this month for the class of 2020.

@Warren28 wrong page man, check out the 2020 thread for waitlist decision updates
