What do you think? What are the average applicants like? Are they all 4.0/2400 students? Do I have a slight chance?
@confusedsenior28 You have awesome stats! I’m just applying as a shot in the dark I have an 1890 SAT haha but I’m a legacy so I thought it was worth a shot. So rest assured you’re probably better qualified than a large chunk of applicants.
SAT Means nothing. And where I am from, an 1890 is more than amazing! You have a huge shot at getting in don’t worry. Just put 100% effort into your application and you will be fine. Best of luck @classof2020ny
um i totally disagree with @confusedsenior28 . they ask for SAT so it obviously matters. an 1890 is very low unfortunately because their 25th percentile (lowest applicants) SAT score is a 1950.
@andrewmcdona you are right, but we can’t judge solely on the SAT. Anyways, do you think a 2080 is sufficient? Also, to be a competitive applicant, should I be above the 75th percentile or around the 50th one?
above 75th is best, but a 2080 is still good and in no way will be your downfall. defiantly not as weakness. however im also applying to CSOM and i have a 2180 SAT and a lot of other applicants will have higher than the 75th percentile. but like you said, SAT isnt everything.
@confusedsenior28
What’s up boys and girls??? GET PUMPED FOR BC RD!!!
So my question: anyone have any stats on acceptance rate per school? Im applying to Lynch and am quite worried cuz i heard its harder to get into specialized schools, especially if you are a dude (which I am by the way)…
P.S. my sat’s are 2060 so like… haha fingers crossed!
@andrewmcdona Thanks for the input haha I know it’s low it’s like a super reach for me lol
“an 1890 is very low unfortunately” … this boy has college confidential syndrome
@nursing2020ny you’re quite right! you know they have CC syndrome while they try and be nice, but at the same time are like “i hope you die and never get into college” hahaha
and by the way, i don’t know, and not sure if anyone knows, the admissions stats from one school to another. Also i know it depends by sex, because my female cousin goes to Carrol, and she honestly shouldn’t have gotten into BC at all… so even though BC might deny it, i think its much harder for guys to get into any school besides A&S. at the same time, i don’t know because i don’t have the stats
Gonna send in my application soon, just got rejected from my top school :-S
SAT: 2220 (reading - 760, writing - 800, math - 660 lol)
Subject tests: 710 Lit, 760 US History
APs: seven total, on the fence about submitting my scores
GPA: 3.89 unweighted, I think 4.56 weighted but I could be wrong about the last digit
Rank: school doesn’t release this, although I know I’m at least top 10% of class
ECs: strong, bunch of things related to major
Essays: strong
Recs: probably strong, I don’t get to read them lol
I’ll let y’all know what the results are when the time comes
I am applying with a 27 ACT score. If my app is strong everywhere else, do I have a shot?
I never played a high school sport, but I am involved in multiple clubs and have a lot of community service. ^^^ Would I even have a shot with these scores?
senior2016x - music, clubs, community service are all as significant as sports and can take as much time and commitment outside of class, and are valued by admissions. You definitely have a shot without sports. Leadership, in any of these, would add to your applications.
@Outofthenest
Even with an ACT score of a 27?
.
When’s notif date? Does BC play the early writes game?
Senior2016, I was only commenting on not playing sports, and not to let that stop you.
