Hi, I’ve applied to SDSU for fall 2017 as a nursing major and I was wait listed. I was wondering if I could appeal, or if going through the appeals process is only for denied applicants. Thanks.
From the SDSU website:
If you were denied admission, or if you missed an admissions deadline, it is unlikely that our decision will be reversed on appeal. The appeals process is only for applicants who have a serious and compelling reason that they feel the committee should consider.
Since you are waitlisted and not denied, I would assume you cannot appeal, but I would contact admissions just in case. Some schools will allow waitlisted applicants to appeal.

Do you have a compelling reason for the appeal?
Hi!! I was in this exact situation last year. I was waitlisted from the nursing school and I was soooo let down. I appealed and sent letter directly to all the nursing school administration about my passion to be a nurse and my high school stats. Then I sent and follow up email to the nursing school advisor, his name is Jason Ramirez, asking if he received my letter and my appeal. That day I was accepted! Don’t give up hope!
Thank you so much! I was bummed after being waitlisted, I’ll do exactly that; thanks!
So you sent the letter to all in the staff?
