So I got my decision letter in the mail today (waitlisted) and the envelope was already open. At first I was worried that someone had gone through my mail, but then I looked closely and realized no one had even licked the envelope closed in the first place! I don’t believe anything fell out, but I hope this is just an isolated incident.

I have also been waitlisted by Tufts which is my absolute dream school! I sent in my waitlist confirmation with updated grades and a letter of interest and now I am trying to forget about it all. (Obviously it’s not working very well!!). So I do have a few questions; does anyone know the size of the waitlist? Also, if a student was waitlisted and later applies as a transfer, does that help/hinder/not affect their application?

No impact. We give the transfer applications a fresh slate.

I applied ED and was deferred (the least used admissions decision).
Crushed, I waited.
Now, I am wait listed (the really least used admissions decision).
Crushed again, I continue to wait.
Cruel! Nearly my entire senior year I am on hold for Tufts.
You’re killing me Tufts.
Just pull the band aid off quickly and let me go…

Hi! I’m an international student from Pakistan on the waiting list. I faxed Tufts the waitlist reply form (stating my intention to remain on the waiting list plus updates) twice, once in the beginning of April and again in mid-April. I didn’t get any confirmation, though. Is this normal, or was i supposed to receive some sort of confirmation? I really really want to go to Tufts, so could anyone answer my question (if they know)?

Hope this helps freakozoid. Good luck!

DanAdmiss@Tufts,

Any news as to if Tufts will need to got to their waitlist this year???

I think it will probably go to waitlist this year.

macbook, what are your reasons for thinking that Tufts will go to the waitlist? Have you heard/read anything from the admissions committee? I don’t want to get my hopes up too high in case this is just a rumor :)

I am PMing you the reason.

gotcha, thanks!

macbook, would you mind PMing me as well? I’m intrigued.

Sure! Check it out.

Were you waitlisted too?

macbook pm me 2?
was waitlisted as well =/

Check it out!

macbook, can you pm me as well please? thank you.

pm me as well please, I am also interested. Thank you

Check…

Can you PM me, too? I’m awful curious.

:)

While we still do not know for certain if we will use the waitlist, we do know that if we use the waitlist this year, it will be for a very small number of applicants. At the outset of this thread, I encouraged whoever might read the thread to get excited about other options and to be pumped for whatever institution you ultimately decided to make you home. I hope that you’ve taken that to heart, even if you’re remaining excited about Tufts.

@DanAdmiss@Tufts
Are you at liberty to give us some sort of interval of time in which we can expect to hear if you are or are not using the waitlist? I’m leaving the country in a few days and I wouldn’t want to miss an admission offer because I was unreachable during important dates.

I realize it seems like I’m ignoring your advice, but I am excited about the school I am currently slated to attend! There’s just a little part of me that’s still rooting for Tufts. Thanks.
